Appointments with Fleur can be in-person at Jindabyne or Australia-wide by telehealth via Zoom. Fleurieu Nutrition is a private dietetic practice established in 2011, in Strathalbyn, South Australia, and has now also expanded to the Snowy Mountains in southern NSW. The principal, Fleur Brinkmann, is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with more than 17 years of experience in clinical, community, he

alth promotion and residential aged care facilities. Fleur also has prior experience in catering and food service, and has a passion for food, nutrition, edible gardening, and cooking, which further assists in providing a tailored, practical and individualised approach with each client. Bianca joined as a partner in February 2021 and brings with her an extensive background in hospital, community, local government and university settings. She loves working with families and adults providing practical dietary advice to improve nutritional health and wellbeing. Bianca also loves spending time in the garden and creating new recipes in the kitchen. We offer a number of services and choices to make it easier to see your dietitian:
* Face to face (in-person) appointments are held at the Strathalbyn Medical Clinic, 26 West Tce, Strathalbyn, with Bianca.
* Home visits for NDIS clients, and for those unable to travel, in:
- South Australia: Strathalbyn, Murray Bridge, Mount Barker and surrounding areas.
- New South Wales: Jindabyne, Berridale, Cooma and surrounding areas.
* Telehealth appointments (via Zoom) from the comfort of your home or workplace. This is a great choice if you are time-poor, live further away, are too ill to attend appointments in person, or are unable to take time off work to attend appointments. We look forward to assisting you with your nutritional needs.

As at least 30% of children’s nutritional intake is eaten while at school, it is important to include as much nutritious food as possible. Nutrition Australia have lots of ideas on their website and Facebook, and below is a great information sheet on what can go in a lunchbox from each of the food groups. Ask your child (or yourself) what item from each food group they would like in their lunchbox for tomorrow 🥗 🥪 🥯 🍌 🧀 🍔 🍎

Say cheeeeese!!!

“We recommend you enjoy a little bit of really good, quality cheese and savour that experience rather than eating a poor quality cheese and having too much of it,"

Some important information about our fruits and vegetables, whether they are homegrown or purchased from a market or supermarket.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are an important and delicious part of a nutritious diet. Just like other foods, fresh fruit and vegetables can contain harmful bacteria that can cause foodborne illness (food poisoning). Follow these simple tips to reduce your risk of exposure and ensure your fruit and veg are safe to eat:

✔️ avoid purchasing damaged (e.g. where the skin is broken) or mouldy fruit and vegetables when shopping
✔️ wash fresh fruit and vegetables under running water before eating
✔️ use separate chopping boards and knives for raw and ready-to-eat food
✔️ store cooked food separately from raw food.
