Thriving Lifestyles

Thriving Lifestyles Thriving Lifestyles is all about creating YOUR own version of your healthy lifestyle. Focussing on w We all have a choice, and we choose to Thrive!

Thriving Lifestyles represents a movement of healthy living that aspires to help women create their lifestyle that works for them, on their terms, their way! We promote the basics that help women to engage in life long participation of healthy living. We are advocates for the process of thriving, rather than the fast attained and quickly lost results that many of us strive for. Thriving Lifestyles has a core focus on improving the life that we already have. To work with what we've been given and turn it into something that we can be proud of and excited to get up out of bed for! We understand that everyone is dealing with their own struggles and no two women are the same. We also know that there are fundamental requirements to living a healthy lifestyle such as regular exercise, healthy eating, adequate sleep, hydration, rest and many other basic lifestyle habits that simply go unnoticed and are merely undervalued and under utilised.

It is for this reason that it has been out mission to bring these fundamentals back into fashion and empower women to implement them on a daily basis so they can prevent, control and even overcome their health conditions, injuries or illnesses so they can enjoy a fulfilling, exciting and active life that's created on their terms! We help you discover what a healthy lifestyle means to you, and support you to achieve it.

You see, when we struggle with areas of our life that we wish were better, like our weight, happiness, health, fitness, stress or any other areas of our lives, we often overlook our habits, behaviours and routines that usually get us to this point in the first place!

We believe that everyone's answers are already within them, we help women that are struggling to find those answers to figure them out themselves and get the results they deserve! No one should feel tired, crappy, frustrated, lethargic, stressed, unmotivated or unhappy every day, yet many do.! Which is why we are creating this movement, and why we want you to jump on board too. Thriving Lifestyles is not a program or a 'short term solution'. It is a movement of healthy living and it's founded on what works for you! Our Thrive Movement allows us to guide women to change and remove the habits and routines that shape our lives now, and create new ones to support the ideal life we want to have. We help find balance, transform habits and create a thriving mindset that allows us to achieve our goals. We do this by taking out the overwhelm of 'quick fixes' that no one can stick to. We take it slow and make it meaningful by matching it up with individual, personal goals. Let's create your healthy lifestyle!

Chicken day! 🐔
Jack and Billie have been looking forward to this day for a while now. They have both been excited to get them here and play with them. Everything come together nicely with the chicken coop and it was a fun project to make.

It took a bit longer than I expected but we took our time and made sure it was build right. So far, the chickens seem to be happy :)

Any chicken hacks/ advice we should know?

Bought a coffee machine a few years ago with the intention of making all our coffees at home….. realised we love people, the experience of getting a coffee at a cafe and getting out of the house to just ‘grab a coffee’

So anyway, the coffee machine is great! But so are good caffès!
One of our faves is our local -

Anyone else bought a coffee machine with this intention and it just didn’t workout that way? Haha

Reading their stories :) creating memories together, just enjoying themselves and soaking it all up.
To us, learning is a natural flow of living and growing. When we facilitate new ideas and bring it to our kids in meaningful ways, they engage and discover new skills without the confinement to a classroom. It happens every day, with all kinds of experiences. It’s fun for us and it’s exciting for them.
We are really leaning into it and it’s been so rewarding already. The connection we are developing with our kids and showing interest into their world is one of the biggest benefits so far. They see us and we see them.

Full swing with learning over here.
Yesterday we went for an adventure walk where we hiked up some rocks. On our trip, the kids collected items to bring home. We took photos along the wall and we talked along the way, making connections from what we saw and experienced.
When we got home, we turned that morning adventure into a writing activity, where the kids copied out the description of what each item was. ‘This is a …..’. Then they drew it.
That night, we printed off the photos, laminated them and wrote what each photo was ‘This is us at the…..’.
Lots of repetition and scaffolding at the start, then they were able to use the photos to tell the story.

The whole learning sequence was a day long activity that the kids enjoyed. It was them, their adventure and they were fully engaged.
This is what homeschooling looks like for us :)
Very simple, meaningful and fun.

It’s the same thriving vibe from us here, except now we’ve got more of a focus on family. Over the years of creating our own health, improving every day and moving back into alignment of what makes us feel good, we have grown two beautiful kids and now our reasons have extended far beyond our own health and into the health of our kids and our family. We’ve realised that this is much bigger than just ourselves now. It is a family legacy that we want to continue on with and also share with other families to help them do the same. Thriving lifestyles to us means doing all the things you love, feeling the best you can and living life in a way that is meaningful, sustainable and enjoyable. It is about taking your lifestyle from where you are now and making some key changes in certain areas that make massive improvements to how you live. We believe that with what we have learnt, how we have grown and the programs that we have developed for others, we really have figured this out. It’s not hard stuff, but it does take a bit of thought and work, which is why we understand that having a community of people around you that are all aiming to do the same thing really is such an important aspect to making this whole thriving lifestyle thing work. It is about enjoying your changes and seeing the effects ripple through your daily thoughts and patterns, it’s about feeling proud of yourself and how you apply new knowledge and wisdom. It’s about seeing your kids implement positive habits that you know will help them live a healthier life than most kids ever will.
It’s about opportunity and progress.

We love the life we are creating and we want to share that with you too. This year is about your health, and showing you how to include your family in a fun and positive way. Little tidy ups here, new habits there. All fun, all for thriving 🙂

If you were to review yours and your families overall health, how would you rate it now and where you’d like to be? It’s an important question to consider and one we should all do from time to time.

Basic principles vs advanced protocols.

When reviewing and reflecting on any changes we’ve made with our health and fitness, there has been something across each of them that works every time. Sometimes however, it takes a bit of time to get into the acceptance of it for it to really take shape, other times it clicks straight away and the changes happen rapidly.

I’m talking about working with basic principles and the fundamental, simple things that work with ongoing adoption. The things that sometimes we over look as even valid enough to focus our attention on and doubt whether or not doing them will even make a difference.

I’ve felt myself search and search for the advanced protocols and complicated methods time and time again because I’ve associated doing more and doing it almost in extreme, difficult ways to somehow give me the sense of accomplishment and feeling of pushing hard to a result. Thinking that if I’ve earnt it, I’ll appreciate it.

Usually though, this puts a pause on doing the basic stuff well, which is actually the things that make the most impact over time anyway.

That’s the journey we can go through in the pursuit of change, wanting results faster than we can get them and doing anything we can to move the markers. When in reality, most times this slows us down because we eventually have to go back to the start and do then things we’ve neglected in the beginning

Which brings me back to my original point. When making changes, like eating differently, exercising more, losing weight, building muscle, creating new habits or changing your lifestyle. Try looking to the person you’d become with the result you’re after and see what that person would be doing regularly. Start with making basic changes that align with that new identity.
Not aiming to be there straight away, but moving towards that person instead :)

Our connection to self, our land and developing our appreciation. Connecting through bare foot grounding and increasing our consciousness around feelings and observations.
These walks are something we do most nights, where we all get out bare foot, walk together and take in our surroundings. We each share 3 things we feel grateful for and what we appreciate.
It helps us to remember and immerse ourselves in what we do have, rather than what we don’t have. It builds our capacity to take more in and slow down rather than blitz through the day and miss all of life’s beauty. It absolutely resets our nervous system. For this moment, we are all completely calm and happy.

Our appreciation this night was:
Jack - The land we have
The many cicada shells he finds
The flowers we get from our garden

Billie: The big tree over her swing set

Jess: The opportunities we have here to grow
The space we have for this kids to play
Building our skills with every job we do

Dave: The way this place makes me feel and how I smile every time I’m outside
Our time spent together creating new things here
Having peace and quiet around us

We take a moment whenever we can to just slow down, be present with each other as a family and talk, listen and share. To reconnect and enjoy our lives together.

This is an easy activity that really does bring big results quite quickly. Especially with increasing appreciation. #2026

Getting ready to paint our house, filling in some cracks from when we re stumped.
The kids wanted to have a go so we took the opportunity to learn how to putty, then sand their job to leave a nice piece of puttied timber :)

These two love doing house jobs and being involved and they learn so well.
