If you are not incorporating plyometric training within your weekly sessions and playing a competitive based sport, you are at a disadvantage to peers that are.
Plyometric training plays a pivotal role in developing an athlete's speed, rate of force development and velocity all of which translate into movement in a chosen sport.
Not only does plyometric exercises help neurologically and muscularly, we also see a training effect occur in athletes allowing these movements to be biomechanically correct and reducing injury by becoming more autonomous when playing.

Plyometric based exercises should be appropriately programmed into a resistance based program, relevant to your sport and individual progression.
