It sounds simple… but it makes a bigger difference than most people think.
Staying hydrated plays a huge role in how your body feels day to day. When you’re not drinking enough water, your body can start to let you know, headaches creeping in, muscles feeling tighter, energy dropping, and that general “off” feeling that’s hard to explain.
Especially with busy routines, training, work, and everything in between, it’s easy to forget to drink enough throughout the day. Add in things like coffee, soft drinks, or sugary snacks, and dehydration can sneak up pretty quickly.
At Perth Headache and Physiotherapy Clinic in Subiaco, we often see how something as simple as hydration can influence headaches, muscle tension, and overall recovery. It’s not the whole picture, but it’s an important piece of it.
A few easy habits can help:
• Keep a water bottle nearby,
• Sip regularly, not just when you’re thirsty,
• Balance out coffee or sugary drinks with extra water.
If headaches or tension have been hanging around more than they should, it might be worth looking at both your hydration and what else your body might be dealing with.
