At Edge, we’ve been supporting people with disability on their employment journeys since 1984, transforming lives, businesses and perceptions of people with disability, one job seeker and life-changing opportunity at a time. From first jobs to new career paths. From wannabe entrepreneurs with small-business dreams to community volunteers. 🎬 Meet Jack - a future audio-visual technician and creative talent on the rise!

After completing our Project Employment program in Term 2 last year, Jack has taken huge steps toward his dream career in photography, videography, and media production.

Through mock interviews, employability training, and hands-on work experience at , Jack built the confidence, communication, and workplace skills needed to transition from school to the workforce.

Now studying a Certificate III in Screen and Media at North Metropolitan TAFE, Jack has already filmed his school musical four times.

We’re incredibly proud of Jack’s journey so far and can’t wait to share what else he has been up to!

This year’s theme, ‘Bold Voices, Bright Futures’ is a powerful reminder that every young person deserves to be heard, respected and supported as they shape their own future.

🎉 Congratulations to our latest Empowerment to Employment graduates! 🎓

This month, 18 participants completed our eight-week program designed to build confidence, practical skills, and pathways to meaningful employment.

Delivered through weekly, activity-based sessions, the program focused on strengthening communication, teamwork, goal-setting and job search strategies.

We’re proud to share the outcomes:
✅ 11 are now actively seeking employment
✅ 3 are focused on further skills development
✅ 4 are combining work, study, and volunteering as they pursue their goals.

The program culminated in a special graduation day to celebrate their progress and potential.

We're incredibly proud of what this cohort has achieved and look forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in the workforce and beyond 🌟

🌱 Blossoming at Apace 🌱

Since starting at APACE WA in February 2024, Michael’s journey has blossomed, from building confidence to forming friendships and learning new skills.

With the support of his NDIS Employment Support Coach Janette, and encouragement from the amazing Apace team, Michael has become a valued volunteer, helping with key nursery tasks that support sustainability.

Carpriece is turning her passion for early childhood education into reality! She’s gaining hands-on experience at Sonas Early Learning & Care while working towards her Certificate III in Childhood Education.

After completing our Empowerment to Employment course, Carpriece noticed a big boost in her confidence and wellbeing.
