A gentle reminder — especially after surgery 🤍
In Western Australia, it’s a legal requirement for all drivers and passengers to wear a properly fastened seat belt if one is fitted. There are very limited exemptions, and without a formal medical exemption, the law still applies — even post-surgery.
** Full medical exemption for breast surgery does not apply**
After breast surgery, wearing a seat belt isn’t always comfortable, but it is essential. The belt protects you in accident. Extra padding helps protect your incisions, healing tissue, and results during recovery.
It’s essential to make sure you are wearing your seat belt correctly as prescribed by the Department of Transport WA.
