Perth Specialist Breast Care

Perth Specialist Breast Care Breast Specialists with interest in;
Diagnostic & therapeutic breast procedures and reconstruction.

Perth Specialist Breast Care (PSBC) was established in August 2015 to provide patients with breast disease a multidisciplinary care approach to ensure they have the best possible outcomes. Our practice embeds research into clinical care so patients have access to the latest and most advanced treatments. We believe our breast cancer patients should not just survive, but thrive! PSBC’s multidisciplinary team includes surgeons Professor Christobel Saunders, Mr Lee Jackson, Dr Wen Chan Yeow, Dr Helen Ballal (early 2022). The team work closely with St John of God Hospital’s two specialist breast care nurses: Gay Refeld and Joan Burgess, as well as the specialist oncologists and other specialists who form part of the SJOG cancer care team. The aim of PSBC is to provide an integrated service for patients – one referral will mean they have access to a very wide team of specialists and support and the very best outcomes. For more information please phone (08) 9382 4622, fax (08) 9382 4611 or see our website www.perthbreastcare.com.

🚴‍♂️💛 Supporting an Incredible Cause 💛🚴‍♂️

This October, Mr Lee Jackson will be taking on the challenge of riding in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride — a massive 200km journey to help raise vital funds for cancer research and support services.

Cancer affects so many families, friends, and communities, and this ride is about making a real difference. Every kilometre ridden helps bring hope to those battling cancer and supports the amazing work being done to improve treatments and outcomes.

Lee is putting in the time, training, and effort to complete this huge ride, and now he needs our support! 🙌

If you’re able to, please consider making a donation — every dollar helps and goes towards an incredibly important cause. No amount is too small, and your support means the world.

Let’s get behind Lee and help make an impact together! 💛

If you’d like to donate, please scan the QR code or visit cancer200.org.au and search for Lee Jackson

Breast cancer lymph node removal (axillary surgery) is performed to detect, stage, and treat cancer that has spread to the underarm. Common procedures include Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) for early staging and Axillary Lymph Node Dissection (ALND) for more extensive removal. Groin dissection surgery can also affect the lower limbs. A side effect following these procedures is lymphoedema.

Perth Specialist Breast Care are now offering ICG Lymphatic mapping services for those experiencing issues with lymphoedema.

A gentle reminder — especially after surgery 🤍

In Western Australia, it’s a legal requirement for all drivers and passengers to wear a properly fastened seat belt if one is fitted. There are very limited exemptions, and without a formal medical exemption, the law still applies — even post-surgery.

** Full medical exemption for breast surgery does not apply**

After breast surgery, wearing a seat belt isn’t always comfortable, but it is essential. The belt protects you in accident. Extra padding helps protect your incisions, healing tissue, and results during recovery.

It’s essential to make sure you are wearing your seat belt correctly as prescribed by the Department of Transport WA.

Slide across for examples on how to make your car journey that bit more comfortable whilst adhering to the law.

Safety first. Healing always 🤍

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Perth Specialist Breast Care 🎉

Today marks a very special milestone — 10 years of providing dedicated, compassionate, and expert care to the women and men of Western Australia.

From the moment we opened our doors, our mission has been clear: to support and empower women through every stage of their breast health journey — with clinical excellence, warmth, and respect at the heart of everything we do.

Over the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside thousands of women, men and their families — providing not only specialist care but also comfort, understanding, and hope during some of life’s most challenging moments.

To our incredible team: thank you for your unwavering commitment, your empathy, and your tireless work. You are the heartbeat of this clinic, and your impact is immeasurable.

To our patients: thank you for trusting us. Your strength inspires us every single day, and we are honoured to be part of your story.

To our referring doctors and the broader community: thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration. Together, we’re making a real difference.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward — to continuing to grow, evolve, and lead the way in breast care for the next 10 years and beyond.

From all of us at Perth Specialist Breast Care — thank you for being part of our journey. 💗
