Founded in 2013, Beyondbeing is one of the original vinyasa yoga studios in Perth, offering world-class instruction, workshops, teacher trainings, community engagement, and retreats. Beyondbeing’s signature teaching style blends movement, philosophy, and breath to create a powerful meditation in movement that is intelligent, challenging, and safe. Each of our teachers brings years of experience joined with passion, soul and a deep commitment to teaching and personal practice. We have a 6am flow Tuesday - Friday (gentle flow on Monday) are you in the 6am club? Early starts aren’t for everyone, however they’re worth a try to see if the time works for you. All our teachers have their own unique spin on how they teach a flow class which is pretty cool.

Trained with a Bachelor in Performing arts (dance), vinyasa, yin and ongoing exploration of physics, philosophy and psychology of yoga. We are grateful for Hayley’s wisdom, expertise, experience and unique teachings in studio 🤍 on a personal note, Hayley hired me as a newbie 2 year old yoga teacher and became my first official teaching mentor 1000 years ago, ‘less words, efficiency of cueing’ stayed with me. Yin Yoga ☯️ This is a practice informed by yoga, Chinese medicine and Taoism. Expect deep rest and replenishment through this restorative, fascial and energetic (prana/qi) focused practice. Yin Yoga is a quiet meditative practice, combining long held, static floor postures with breath and deep introspection. The perfect addition to your Yang practices or pace of life. If you have tried Yin Yoga, you know it can be equal parts restorative and uncomfortable. The stillness can be, and yet we must attune to the Yin in ratio to the Yang to find harmony🤍

Sound meditations are immersive experiences offering a deep sense of relaxation, mindful and rest. Danielle is a classical music composer le and she uses an array of instruments - including monochord, hand pan, lyre, crystal chalices, crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, rain sticks, buffalo/ocean drums, earth/water gongs and chimes, coupled with voice and spoken word - combine to create a soundscape of calm, serenity and peace. A meditative experience of therapeutic sound, designed to rejuvenate, relax and release🤍✨

One of the core values of State of Zen is community. We wanted to not only offer a community class on our schedule, but also to nurture newer teachers who are looking to bridge the gap between training and studio teaching.

Our first teacher is the amazing Lauren. She completed her Yin training with me, alongside my co-facilitators Sarah and Fran, through Swell Yoga Studio. Lauren is an incredible teacher who brings depth, presence, and a beautiful level of understanding to her classes. You’re truly in for a treat.

Starting February 6th, and then every Friday at 12:15 pm, we will be offering a by-donation class, with all donations going to a charity of the teacher’s choice🤍

Class spotlight on breathwork and meditation. Pranayama can be translated to breath expansion/prana expansion. Expansion doesn’t necessarily mean big or loud. When we connect to our prana/energy body, we have access to expansion. There is a wisdom within our pranic body that we can access. When we use the breath in such a way, placing it as a focus point, we might find a little more stillness in the mind for meditation.
This practice is really subtle and dear to my heart. Starting this Saturday 10:30am-11:30am and Tuesday mornings 7:15am 🌬️🤍
