Starting a new school year often means new shoes and lots of walking, which can sometimes cause blisters. The good news? A few simple steps can help prevent them:
✅ Break shoes in gradually – Let your child wear new shoes around the house for short periods before school starts.
✅ Make sure shoes fit well – Shoes should be snug but comfortable, with enough room for toes to move.
✅ Pick the right socks – Moisture-wicking socks help reduce friction.
✅ Keep feet comfortable – Change socks if they get damp during the day.
✅ Protect areas that rub – Using blister plasters or gentle tape can prevent irritation.
✅ Watch for signs of discomfort – Frequent rubbing or soreness means it’s worth adjusting shoes or socks to keep little feet happy.
Blisters aren’t “normal” — they’re a sign something isn’t right. If school shoes are causing ongoing pain, it’s time to get them checked 👣
