In Ayurveda, autumn corresponds to Vata season, characterised by cool, dry winds and a natural shift toward movement and change. As nature transitions, our bodies and minds can also feel lighter, more restless, dry, or prone to anxiety if Vata becomes imbalanced. Understanding this seasonal influence helps us support our health, energy, and wellbeing.

Tips to stay balanced this autumn:
• Eat warm, grounding foods with oils and spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cumin.
• Stay hydrated with warm water, teas, and soups.
• Move gently through yoga, stretching, or mindful walks.
• Keep a routine with consistent meals, sleep, and self-care.
• Self-massage (Abhyanga) with warm oil to nourish skin and calm the nervous system.

Autumn is a perfect season to slow down, ground yourself, and nurture your energy from the inside out.

To explore how Ayurveda can support your wellbeing this Vata season, book a consultation or treatment today.

Over the past few months I’ve been deeply immersed in ŚARĪRAKRIYĀ & RACANĀ I — studying with VD. Matheus Macedo through VIDA Veda.

This is the study of Ayurvedic anatomy and physiology — the very foundation of our science. Returning to these teachings has been incredibly powerful. Each time I revisit a śloka, it lands differently. It reveals something new. It settles in a deeper layer of understanding.

After years of study and clinical practice, I can truly feel that I am now able to digest this knowledge in a way I couldn’t before. There is more clarity, more integration, more embodiment.

It reminds me how essential it is to continue studying — again and again — allowing the teachings to mature within us.

Deep gratitude for the opportunity to learn from Vaidya Matheus and his beautiful team. 🤍

🌹✨ A little rose ritual at VIDA Ayurveda…

There is something truly special about working with pure rose oil — soft, cooling, heart-opening, and deeply nourishing.

At VIDA Ayurveda, we use the beautiful Sphagni Rose Oil from Southern Swan in our face massage rituals, and it has truly been a hit… our clients love the silky texture, the delicate fragrance, and the feeling of calm radiance it leaves on the skin and heart.

Rose is the traditional heart remedy — used to help us remain open, stand tall, and offer our valuable contributions to the environments and situations we find ourselves in. It supports emotional resilience with softness, not force.

For children, wearing Sphagni Rose can feel like being surrounded by a mother’s cuddle — something they can carry with them gently throughout their day. That same nurturing quality is what we aim to offer in every treatment.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, rose is:

🌸 Sheeta (cooling) – beautifully pacifies excess Pitta
🌸 Hridaya (heart supportive) – opens and soothes emotional tension
🌸 A gentle Rasayana for the skin – promoting glow, softness and vitality
🌸 Nourishing to Shukra dhatu – supporting hormonal and feminine balance
🌸 Calming to the mind – easing irritability, heat and restlessness

When blended into a Shiro (head massage) and Ayurvedic face massage, this oil becomes more than skincare — it becomes a ritual for the nervous system, the heart and the spirit.

If your body feels overheated…
If your mind feels busy…
If your heart needs softness…

This is your invitation 🌹
Come experience a Shiro & Face Massage at VIDA Ayurveda and allow yourself to be nurtured, cooled and deeply restored.

With love,
Mariana

One of the practices I turn to regularly is Nadi Shodhana, or alternate nostril breathing. Even a few minutes helps me feel grounded, clear, and present for the day ahead.

For me, it’s more than breathwork — it’s a way to balance my nervous system, reconnect with my body, and harmonise my energy before the busyness of life takes over.

How to Practice:
▪ Sit comfortably, spine straight.
▪ Close your right nostril with your thumb, inhale through the left.
▪ Close the left, exhale through the right.
▪ Inhale through the right, exhale through the left.
▪ Repeat 5–10 mindful cycles.

In Ayurveda, this practice balances Prana (life force), calms the mind, and supports overall wellbeing. Even a few minutes can leave you feeling lighter, more centred, and connected.

🌿✨ Herbs are amazing, but they are just one part of the healing journey. ✨🌿

A client shared some beautiful feedback with me recently, and it reminded me of something I want to share with all of you. 🌱💬

While Aushadi (medicine) play a key role in healing, they’re only effective when combined with Ahara (diet) and Vihara (lifestyle). These elements work together in harmony to truly bring balance and transformation. 🌸

Healing is not a quick fix. It requires dedication, consistency, and an understanding that each part of the process is equally important. My client is living proof of this holistic approach, integrating herbs with the right diet and lifestyle changes — and the results are incredible. 🙏✨

Thank you to all my clients who trust this process and commit to their healing journey! 🌿

At its heart, Ayurveda is the study of life in harmony with the natural world. Every rhythm of nature — the sun, the seasons, the elements — is reflected within us.

This philosophy teaches that health and balance aren’t created through force or willpower, but through alignment with the world around us. When we live in tune with nature — observing cycles, honouring seasons, and listening to our bodies — we move with flow instead of against it.

Your body is a microcosm of the earth: the same elements, the same rhythms, the same intelligence. Ayurveda helps you see this connection, so you can live with awareness, ease, and vitality.

Start your day with a cup of warm water — before coffee, before food, before rushing.

In Ayurveda, warm water gently awakens Agni (your digestive fire), supports elimination, and helps clear overnight stagnation in the body. It’s a simple daily ritual that can improve digestion, energy, and mental clarity over time.

Sip it slowly. Let your system wake up naturally.

Small practices, done consistently, create big shifts in wellbeing.

If you’d like personalised Ayurvedic support, book a consultation or treatment, I’d love to guide you.
