We pressed pause on our website to ensure we could fulfill all your orders with our limited remaining stock, and now after a final stock take we are popping back into this space briefly to let you know we have a few boxes of honey jars remaining. Though state borders are still closed to the movement of honey from NSW due to efforts to eradicate varroa mite in the Newcastle region, a steady flow of orders from our faithful NSW customers are keeping this small business a-buzz 🐝

As we keep up with regular testing, we are happy to say that our hives remain healthy and varroa free 🙌🏽

We are most excited that our Manuka samples from this season have been sent for laboratory testing of its MGO content, and eagerly await the results so that we can make it available for your enjoyment!

"MG-what?!", you may be asking. MGO stands for methylglyoxal, the organic compound responsible for Manuka's famous antibacterial properties.

We are several years into producing Manuka honey, and each year our MGO rating has increased. This season past, we've honed our practices to maximise MGO potency, and are expecting that these batches will be our strongest Manuka honey yet!

Following a breach of bee bio-security at the port of Newcastle NSW, the state governments have restricted movement of all bee products as they take necessary steps to eradicate the problem of the varroa mite that kills bees (it does not affect honey). This means that until further notice we can not service customers outside of NSW.

We wish to advise all of our customers their recent and previous purchases are completely safe and unaffected. Our apiary is exclusively contained at our bee haven in Byron Bay, considerably distanced from the problem. All our hives are currently inspected and clear. It is necessary for the government to blanket closure the entire state however, to eradicate the threat to the horticultural industry and our food chain.

We are holding a plentiful supply of processed honey harvested prior to this breach and will continue to supply our customers in NSW via post/courier (see our website www.phoenixlifeforcehoney.com) or from our Sunny Sundays Honey Shack @ 491 Bangalow Rd, Talofa, Byron Bay.

We are appealing to anyone who has a beehive to check for varroa mite and ensure you are registered with the DPI. Call 1800 084 881 or visit www.dpi.nsw.gove.au/animals-and-livestock/bees/pests-diseases/sugar-shake-month.
