THE POWER OF THE PAUSE 🖐

Every time you pause before you act, you're choosing to lead with clarity instead of chaos.

The power of the pause is about recognising your state, taking a deep breath, slowing down and deciding how to proceed. It’s finding safety in the eye of the hurricane: a calm center where clarity emerges, enabling you to navigate the storm effectively.

Pausing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, countering the "fight-or-flight" response and shifting you from reactive to responsive behavior. Instead of making impulsive, emotion-driven decisions, a pause allows for calmer assessment and intentional action. This leads to better decisions, reduced biases and more creative solutions.

Pausing also improves communication. When you’re calm, you can clearly express needs, concerns and plans, fostering better engagement, understanding and buy-in.

Think of a time you made a decision under stress or pressure—what was the result? Now, recall a time you paused and responded from a pace of grounding and clarity—how did the outcome differ?

While it may seem counterintuitive in fast-paced situations or crises, taking a few deep breaths and slowing down significantly improves your ability to manage stress, make better decisions and lead effectively 👌

Why do you have so much to do? We know, life is busy. But could you perhaps have too much to do because you always tend to over commit? Maybe you say yes to anything and everything?

Truth is, if there aren’t enough hours in the day, and the days aren’t about to get any longer, so you just have to come to term with the idea that you have to do less. And it’s not easy at all. We know it is hard to strip life down and to eliminate what doesn't need to be in your schedule. In reality, a lot of it stays – it has to. You still want the children to be fed, washed and sent to school (among other things!), the house to not turn into a complete pigsty, your career to progress, and your life to just continue to function. Whatever ‘bare minimum’ looks like for you, ask yourself:

❓Do I really need to be doing this now/today/this week?
❓Is this really necessary? What difference will it make if I do this or don’t?
❓Will it add value to my life right now or can I let it go for good? Or just postpone until tomorrow/later/when I have some time?

Can you think of anything that could go? Maybe the endless, mindless scrolling through your Facebook feed! Digital detox anyone?!

Remember, you are likely not overwhelmed because there is too much to do. You are probably overwhelmed because you have not intentionally decided what matters 🫶

Whether you’re a new mum, a loving bestie, hot off the heels of a new relationship or on the ride of a lifetime with your forever partner — otherwise known as marriage — this week remember the love that lays at the foundation of it all. Cottage Cheese Banana Bread 😋

This moist and protein-packed banana bread combines ripe bananas with creamy cottage cheese, offering a healthier twist on the classic recipe. Perfect for breakfast or a snack!

Ingredients:
👉 2 ripe bananas, mashed
👉 3 large eggs
👉 1/2 cup cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
👉 3 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
👉 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
👉 2 1/2 cups almond flour
👉 1 teaspoon baking soda
👉 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
👉 Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, or blueberries

Instructions:
👉 Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
👉 In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, eggs, cottage cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
👉 Add the almond flour, baking soda, and cinnamon to the wet mixture. Stir until fully combined. If desired, gently fold in chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, or blueberries.
👉 Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for approximately 50 minutes.
👉 Remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY 👯‍♀️

In a time when the noise of division grows louder — fueled by wars, conflicts, inequality, and fear — friendship feels almost radical in its simplicity. It doesn’t arrive with fanfare or policy; it doesn’t need speeches or signatures. It begins with something quieter: a conversation, a shared moment, a willingness to see one another not as strangers but as fellow travelers through the human experience.

In this year’s observance of the International Day of Friendship, we’re reminded that real peace is forged not only in negotiation halls or by writing into treaties — it’s built, thread by thread, in the trust we extend to one another in daily life.

Friendship, especially among young people, holds a special kind of power. It can cross languages, faiths, and histories that might otherwise divide us. It invites us to listen before we judge, to stay when it's easier to walk away. A huge thank you to The Little BIG Foundation for generously providing the space and making it possible to bring people together on a Sunday to connect, learn, and grow.

To everyone who came along — thank you! It was such a fantastic turnout, and your energy, openness, and reflections made the session incredibly special. We explored how small, intentional habits can support a life lived with more clarity, calm, and (of course) ease.
