Some of the best moments come from small thoughtful gestures.

and our Joy Officer took time out of their day to surprise the team with coffee and sweet treats. No occasion, no agenda. Just a genuine act of appreciation for the people who show up every day to care for others.

It is easy to overlook these moments but they are the ones that quietly shape our culture. A simple coffee run becomes a chance to pause, connect and share a bit of laughter in the middle of a busy day.

At Montessori Care, care is not only something we provide to our participants. It is something we live internally too. It shows in the way we support one another, celebrate the small wins and create space for connection.

Recently, our team set out to do something simple. Not part of a care plan, not scheduled, just something genuinely helpful for a family navigating high-care needs.
 
With the support of Alex from , and Charbel spent the day at the participant’s home, helping ease some of the everyday load. 
 
Sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that go the furthest. Moments like these are a reminder of what care really looks like in practice.

Concerns are growing around the state of disability housing, with reports highlighting how outdated homes and funding inefficiencies are impacting the quality of care.

As needs evolve, housing must be able to support residents safely and appropriately, not just meet minimum requirements.

Real reform isn’t just about managing costs. It’s about improving living standards and ensuring long-term, adaptable care environments.

There are moments that stay with you long after the day ends.

At 2026, we were reminded of what truly matters. Not just the achievements, but the opportunity for people to be seen, to be celebrated and to step into their confidence.

Four of our participants took to the runway, each bringing their own presence, personality and story. Watching them own that space with confidence and authenticity was something we are incredibly proud of. Their wins including King, Queen, Princess and 1st place made the moment even more special, but what stood out most was who they were on that stage.

Because opportunities like this are not always part of everyday life. And when they happen, they matter.

This is why we do what we do. To support, to empower and to create spaces where people can truly shine.

There are moments that remind us why this work truly matters. At STRUT Ability 2026, we witnessed something bigger than a runway. It was confidence, courage and self-expression coming to life in the most powerful way.

We were honoured to have four of our participants represent Montessori Care and each one of them walked with strength, pride and individuality. Seeing them step into that space and be celebrated for who they are is something we will never forget.

They didn’t just show up. They owned the moment and took home King, Queen, Princess and 1st prize. But beyond the titles, what matters most is the opportunity. An opportunity to be seen, to be supported and to be themselves in a way that everyday life does not always allow.

This is our purpose. This is why we do what we do. Shoutout to Joe for standing alongside our participants and sharing this moment with them. 💙
