CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION
Yes we are still open and consulting.
Appointments can be made as usual via phone or website. Every patient will be asked if they have a history of travel, exposure to a proven case of Covid-19 or flu-like symptoms. If ANY of these apply, staff will provide you with directions to minimise the risk to other patients.
We have a specially designated Covid Triage area in the carpark. Many of our patients are being triaged by our doctors in their vehicles. Possible carriers of Covid are not entering the surgery.
Bulk billed telephone and video consultations are available where clinically feasible for the following patients:
β’ Patients aged 70 or over
β’ Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander patients
β’ Pregnant women
β’ Patients who live with a baby under the age of 12 months
β’ Patients who are immunosuppressed
β’ Patients who have a chronic health condition making them at increased risk from Covid infection (including diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, renal disease and neurological disease)
β’ Patients consulting Dr Helen Colquhoun
β’ Patients consulting Dr Warwick Carter.
Telephone and video consultations are also available for other patients and with other doctors; however we are unable to bulk bill or obtain a Medicare rebate for patients in this instance. Full fees apply.
Cleaning of the surgery has been stepped up with all surfaces being treated frequently.
Social distancing measures are in place, and we request everyone to maintain a 1.5m distance wherever possible. During consultations, doctors and nurses will be wearing gloves and masks to reduce the risk of infection in both directions.
Influenza vaccines are already available (by appointment) for patients aged 65 and older. We are expecting vaccines for everyone else to arrive soon. Whilst this vaccine does not prevent coronavirus, we highly recommend getting it to protect against the flu.
