Grasshoppers Speech Therapy love working with families, and their little ones, to help them live happy lives through fostering their communication skills. The partnership between a therapist, child and family is key to a positive experience and developmental success. Therapy at Grasshoppers focuses on what is particularly important to the child and the family. Whether it be at home, kindergarten or daycare, Grasshoppers therapists provide therapy, assessment and advocacy services to help your child to:
- Speak clearly (articulation)
- Tell others their needs and wants without becoming upset (language)
- Understand (receptive language)
- Reduce frustrations
- Make friends (social skills)
- Develop stronger relationships (social skills)
- Reduce fights and meltdowns (social skills and understanding)
- Play
- Share emotional experiences with family and friends (social skills, language development, narrative language)
- Tell stories - “what did you do today?” (Language)

Grasshoppers therapists also provide support for children who experience difficulty with eating, drinking or swallowing (dysphagia). Our experienced therapists work with picky eaters to expand their diets as well as with children who are having trouble physically chewing and swallowing their food and drink. We have over a decade of experience working with a large variety of children, including children with Autism (ASD), late talkers and developmental delay, just to name a few. Our senior speech pathologist teaches speech pathology at ACU University as well as working passionately with children and their families.
