🖐️ World Hand Hygiene Day – May 5

Clean hands save lives.

Today is a great reminder of the simple but powerful habit of proper hand hygiene. Regular handwashing helps prevent the spread of infections and keeps you, your family, and our community safe.

✔️ Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
✔️ Use hand sanitiser when washing isn’t possible
✔️ Remember to clean hands before eating and after coughing, sneezing, or visiting public places

Let’s all do our part to protect each other 💙

❤️ World Heart Week | 4–10 May ❤️

Your heart works for you every second of every day — this week is a reminder to return the favour.

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of illness, but small lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

💡 Simple ways to support your heart:
• Stay active — even a daily walk helps
• Eat a balanced, heart-healthy diet
• Manage stress and get enough sleep
• Quit smoking and limit alcohol
• Keep up with regular health checks

Know your numbers — blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar — and talk to your GP about your heart health.

A healthy heart is a strong foundation for a healthy life. Let’s take care of it together.

⏰ Appointment Reminder ⏰

To help our GPs run on time and provide the best care for everyone, we kindly ask patients to book the appropriate appointment length with their treating practitioner.

Most GP appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes. If you feel you need more time, we are more than happy to accommodate—just let our team know when booking. We are receiving an increase number of patients scheduling 15 minute appointments and spending 45-60 minutes with their doctor.

If more than one person needs to be seen, please book a separate appointment for each individual. This ensures your doctor can provide the appropriate level of care—consulting multiple family members within a single 15-minute appointment is not possible.

We need to be mindful not only of our GP’s time, but also of other patients who are waiting—their time is just as valuable.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep things running smoothly for all patients 💙

Lest we forget.

Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have served our nations. From the shores of Gallipoli to peacekeeping missions around the world, their legacy lives on in the freedoms we hold dear.

We remember those who gave everything, those who returned forever changed, and those who continue to serve today.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. 🌺

Lest we forget

🌍💉 World Immunisation Week | 24–30 April 💉🌍

This week we recognise World Immunisation Week, a global initiative highlighting the importance of vaccines in protecting people of all ages against serious diseases.

Immunisation is one of the safest and most effective ways to prevent illness, reduce the spread of infections, and protect our families and community — especially our most vulnerable, including babies, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.

Vaccines don’t just protect you — they help protect everyone around you.

If you’re unsure whether your vaccinations are up to date, or if you’d like to discuss recommended immunisations for yourself or your family, we encourage you to book an appointment with your GP.

Prevention is powerful. Let’s keep our community protected. 💙

Dearest Readers,

It has come to this author’s attention that flu season is once again making an uninvited appearance in our fair community… and with rather dreadful manners, might I add.

One simply cannot allow such a nuisance to disrupt one’s social calendar, nor confine oneself to the settee in a most unbecoming state.

Fear not, for salvation is at hand 💉

Our esteemed clinic now offers flu vaccinations to protect even the most delicate of constitutions.

For those who prefer to plan ahead:
📞 Call 9216 5600
💻 Or secure your appointment online or via the HotDoc app

However, for the more spontaneous among you—
No appointment is required weekdays between 4:30–5:30 PM throughout April & May. Simply present yourself, and our capable nurses shall see to the rest.

Do not delay, dear reader… for nothing is quite so unfashionable as the flu.

Yours most sincerely,
Lady Whistledown

🌺 Clinic Closure – Saturday, 25 April (ANZAC Day)

Please note that our clinic will be closed on Saturday, 25 April in observance of ANZAC Day.

ANZAC Day is a time for Australians and New Zealanders to honour and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. Originally marking the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps at Gallipoli in 1915, the day has become a moment of national reflection, gratitude, and respect for all who have served our country.

For medical assistance during this time:
• In an emergency, please call Triple Zero (000).
• For urgent (non-life-threatening) care, please contact your nearest Urgent Care Clinic.
• To arrange a home visiting GP, please call 13 74 25.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the courage, mateship, and resilience that ANZAC Day represents.

Lest We Forget.
