Setu Bandhasana - Bridge Pose

Today we are visiting Bridge Pose and how a bolster can completely change the experience.

In the first photo, Bec is using a bolster to support beneath the sacrum. The bolster creates a more restorative version of the pose, helping the nervous system regulate and anxiety settle. The body can feel completely supported while gently exploring this inversion.

In the second photo, Bec is without a prop. Without the bolster, the body works more actively to hold the shape, intensifying this backbend, creating more opening the front of the body and deeper engagement through the hips and hamstrings.

I thought I’d drop in here to say Xin Chao 👋 from Vietnam 🇻🇳
I am now on my way home from a wonderful vacation with hubby for our 30th wedding anniversary ❤️
It is not often, when I’ve worked in my own small business over 15 years that I’ve had a chance to take some time away to holiday!
I am so grateful to our Yoga 101 family of teachers who have made this possible for me 🙏🫶

Mrigasana - Deer Pose

Today we are visiting Deer Pose and how a bolster can completely change the experience.

In the first photo, Bec is using a bolster to support the upper body, with the short end resting against the hip. The bolster creates a more restorative version of the pose, helping the body feel fully supported and held while gently opening through the hips, lower back, and spine.

In the second photo, Bec is practising the pose without a prop. Without the bolster, the body works more actively to hold the shape, creating a deeper engagement through the hips.

Paschimottanasana - Seated Forward Fold

Today we are visiting a seated forward fold and how blocks can completely transform the experience.

In the first photo, I’m sitting on a block to slightly lift my hips off the ground. This allows me to sit more comfortably, releasing tension and tightness from the back of my legs. This makes the pose more accessible, without compromising alignment.

In the second photo, I’m using a block to deepen the pose. Here I am holding the block at the base of my feet. This lengthens the reach. A further reach, creates a deeper fold.

Uttanasana - Standing Forward Fold

Today we are visiting a standing forward fold and how blocks can completely transform the experience.

In the first photo, I’m using blocks to modify the pose. To bring the ground closer to me. This makes the pose more accessible when experiencing tightness, without compromising alignment.

In the second photo, I’m using the blocks to deepen the pose. Standing on the blocks deepens the fold, creating more intensity through the back of the body.

Join Helen this Tuesday at 7:30pm for a grounding and deeply calming meditative experience.

Sound has been used for centuries to support rest and healing.

This session begins with the steady rhythm of drumming to help you ground, settle, and fully arrive in the space.

From there, you’ll be guided on a soothing soundscape journey designed to support your meditation and ease you into a deeply restful state — where true healing can begin.
