Sunnybank Private Hospital has partnered with the Queensland Government to help more patients get the treatment they need sooner. The statewide Surgery Connect program enables public patients to receive healthcare at a private hospital when needed.
More than 2000 patients have now had surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, gynaecology, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and general surgery at Sunnybank. Some of these patients would otherwise have waited two years to be treated.
Sunnybank General Manager Emily Finley acknowledged the effort and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
“Our team do an amazing job partnering with patients, VMOs and our public providers to make this happen. We could not be prouder of everyone across all departments who has stood up to ensure more patients receive the care they need.”
