Next trip... India.
Day 1. Delhi!
So much to achieve in this amazing country with the sheer size of the population and their needs. I had the privelege of spending time with Dr. (Prof) Vinit Banga and his colleagues at the Department of Neurology and Neurovascular Intervention of the Fortis Escorts Hospital in Faridabad. We talked, practicesd and got hands on with 8 patients in ultrasound guided botulinim toxin injection for cervical dystonia, spasticity and sialorrhea.

Quick visit to Madrid and now on my way back home. Grateful for the invitation to teach rehabilitation physicians and neurologists from around the world at TOXINS2026. Great to catch up with friends, make some new ones and now, really looking forward to returning to family :)

Neck pain, tightness and spasms may be more than just that. Involuntary overactivity of neck muscles is known as cervical dystonia.
90% of sufferers experience neck pain.
Another common complaint is neck muscle tightness.
Postural abnormalities may be present but are often difficult to visualise.
Headaches or migraine are very common.

Cervical dystonia is generally underdiagnosed and often misdiagnosed, but worth thinking about because treatment is available.

NeuroRehabilitation Sunshine Coast held our first ultrasound workshop of the year this past week. Our first incorporating limb spasticity and cervical dystonia. Thanks to AbbVie and Mindray for ongoing support.

The May 2025 workshop is now open for applications. 2 positions remaining.

Applications are open for NeuroRehabilitation Sunshine Coast Anatomy & Ultrasound Workshops in 2025. Dates will be released periodically with February the first available. Next year we incorporate neck anatomy for cervical dystonia, as well as continue with the limbs for spasticity.
Applications will be considered from consultants and accredited registrars in the specialities of Rehabilitation Medicine and Neurology.
Workshop sponsors will include and with continuing to provide expert ultrasound support.

The focused Anatomy and Ultrasound workshops for 2024 are filling up fast at NeuroRehabilitation Sunshine Coast. There are 6 workshops supported by this year in our Sunshine Coast rooms. Of those, there is 1 position remaining in August and 4 positions for November. We will be fortunate to have quality ultrasound machines on hand with sincere thanks to for ongoing support.

The 1.5 day workshop is open to accredited registrars and consultants in Rehabilitation medicine, Neurology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic surgery and Geriatric medicine to learn advanced ultrasound skills and anatomy for intramuscular injection of botulinum toxin for upper and lower limb spasticity.
