SUPPORT WORKER WANTED – Sippy Downs

Enriched Lifestyle Services is looking for an experienced and reliable Support Worker to assist a 9-year-old Down Syndrome boy in Sippy Downs.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children and is comfortable supporting a very active, energetic participant.

Shift Details:
📍 Sippy Downs
🕘 Monday & Thursday
⏰ 9:00am – 1:00pm

Essential:
• Experience supporting children or young people with disability
• NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow card)
• Working with Children Check (Blue card)
• Current First Aid & CPR
• Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Energetic, patient and engaging personality

Enriched Lifestyle Services is currently seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team for sleepover shifts.

If you have availability for overnight support and bring empathy, strong values, and a calm, respectful approach to your work, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for team members who create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment, and who are comfortable working independently in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting.

Supporting participants on a challenging day can be quite a tricky task. Here’s how I assist our participants when they’re on the verge of giving up:

1. We start by examining the larger issue and then deconstruct it into smaller, manageable parts.

2. I remind our participants of their strength and their ability to overcome challenges.

3. We pinpoint the specific issue they’re facing and tackle that head-on.

4. We troubleshoot by considering alternative solutions—if “A” or “B” don’t work, perhaps “C” or “D” will.

5. But most importantly, our team show genuine care and concern for the individual we are assisting and supporting.
