Do you get brain fog??
Our EP Amy had a touch if that this morning...she thought it was another public holiday this coming Monday, amongst a couple of other mind slips. She can be forgiven, given the fact that there have been so many lately.
(Note, we have 2 full weeks of no public holidays)!
Brain fog is something we will all experience at some point. It is a term to described cognitive difficulties, like trouble focusing, remembering things or finding the right words.
There are many possible reasons for this.... tiredness, stress, overload of work, drugs/alcohol, medications, medical conditions, and that old goodie....menopause! Sometimes the brain just is so overloaded with information, it just has a blip.
So, if you experience this, don't panic, it doesn't necessarily mean there are bigger things going on. However, if it is significant and regularly impacts your daily life, you are best to consult your GP.
Life can get so busy and hectic, and maybe the brain fog is a sign to just slow down and take time out....yoga, meditation, exercise, more sleep may help!

APRIL IS AUSTISM AWEARNESS MONTH

This month is about celebrating and advocating for the inclusion of autism. The focus is on exploring neurodiversity and how we can promote inclusive healthcare, quality education, workplace accessibility, reducing inequalities, and designing autism-friendly cities and communities.

Australia is home to a rich and diverse Autistic community, with more than 290,900 individuals identifying as autistic.
• 1 in 100 Aussies are estimated to be Autistic (on the spectrum)
• 38% of Aussies on the spectrum still participate in the work force (compared to 83.2% with no disability)

Autism affects the way a person sees, feels and understands the world. It is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain. People with ASD may have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviours or interests. People with ASD may also have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention. These characteristics can make life very challenging. Unfortunately, misunderstandings of Autism can result in exclusion within the community and social isolation.

How can you help?
Take the time to understand Autism and how to you can communicate or break through the barriers with someone that may be having a difficult time. Some examples are being patient, calm and staying positive.
