Thank you Noosa Today for sharing the incredible fundraising achievement from the inaugural Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party.

We were absolutely thrilled to donate $7,000 to McGrath Foundation and $7,000 to Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program.

The funds will go towards supporting Sunshine Coast locals diagnosed with breast cancer.

📣 Drumroll, please….🥁

We’re thrilled to announce that during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the inaugural Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party donated a whopping $14,000 to McGrath Foundation and Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program to support Sunshine Coast locals diagnosed with breast cancer.

🎗 T H A N K Y O U 🎗

The event organising team are in awe of what was achieved through this volunteer-organised community fundraiser featuring 12 local breast cancer survivors who modelled lingerie, breast prostheses, swimwear and clothing to celebrate body positivity and showcase beauty after cancer.

Event representatives Tracey Grills from Tracey G-Prosthetics & Lingerie and Jen McKenzie The Breast Cancer Physio were thrilled to present the donations to Cathy Apelt, breast care nurse for McGrath Foundation and Alice Taylor-Tighe, coordinator of Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program.

Each organisation received a $7,000 donation to contribute toward their efforts to support the 450 Sunshine Coast women diagnosed with breast cancer annually.

One in every seven Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and of the 20,000 people diagnosed annually, around 150 are men.

The Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program delivers local support services for Sunshine Coast breast cancer patients and their families. The assistance program honours the memory of Sunshine Coast mum Cindy Mackenzie who passed away from breast cancer in 2006, aged 39.

The McGrath Foundation mission is to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse. McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

The event was proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council grants program.

The event was the brainchild of the Sunshine Coast Breast Cancer Friendship Circle, a free social group run by volunteers to connect breast cancer survivors for friendship, support and understanding.

Shout out to event supporter Caloundra Stickerman for kindly donating these amazing giant cheques (we hope they can fit them through the door at the bank 🤣).

Planning is already underway for the 2023 Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles event and we invite you to keep abreast (pun intended) of next year’s ticket release announcement via our socials.

🎗 The organising team for the inaugural Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles Fashion Parade have held our official debrief session. We laughed, we congratulated each other and we celebrated the momentous achievement of working together to organise this community fundraiser from an idea that was discussed way back in 2020. Fast forward two years and this group of women from the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community were able to create history!

📩 Feedback from guests, volunteers and event supporters has been valuable for the organising team to discuss areas of the event where we can improve. We recognise some of the elements of the 2022 event didn’t live up to expectation and weren’t delivered to the level we had originally planned, such as catering and bar service/options, and we will be taking this in our stride to make adjustments for future events.

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣: This brings us to the exciting announcement that the Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles Fashion Parade will be held again in 2023! Updates will be provided once a date and venue have been selected for next year. We’re super excited about announcements that will be shared with you over the coming months.

📣 If you’re keen to participate next year as a sponsor, volunteer, prize donor, supplier (donations of pro bono or in-kind services) or support the event in another way, please drop us a line about how you’d like to get involved (thrivebcevent@gmail.com).

This is your friendly reminder to check your emails for a link to the post-event guest survey emailed to you on 22nd September.

If you can’t be bothered completing the survey online, feel free to email the organising team by Friday 30 September 2022 on thrivebcevent@gmail.com with answers to the following four questions:

1. What message would you tell the breast cancer beauties (models) and event organising team about the social and community impact achieved by this event?
2. What was your most memorable or impactful “moment” during the Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles event?
3. In what ways could we have improved the enjoyment or quality of the event? (Please be honest with your comments as this will help us improve for the next event - we promise we won't be offended)
4. If this event were to be held again in the future, what other ideas or suggestions would you like the organising committee to consider?

If you would like to be in the draw to win a prize for completing this survey, please provide your name, email address and phone number when you submit your feedback.

Your feedback will help us provide input to the venue for quality improvement purposes and the organising team will use your suggestions to consider as part of planning for future events.

Thank you to all guests who provide feedback.

It's taken us a few days to catch our breath after the AMAZING Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party took place last weekend.

This event was organised by breast cancer survivors and representatives of the BC community to celebrate life after cancer and to prove that is empowering. It was also an opportunity to fundraise for Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program and McGrath Foundation.

If you attended the event in person, we'd love to know your thoughts and hear your feedback. Got an opinion? Tell us! What moments will you remember forever? How do you think this event impacts positively on other breast cancer survivors? What elements of the event did you love the most? Drop a comment below and share your thoughts.

Thanks to event sponsors, donors, and volunteers for helping to support the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community!

Who had an incredible night celebrating the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community?

YOU!
ME!
US!

Thank you to the guests, supporters, sponsors, suppliers and prize donors who helped to create an unforgettable event last night at Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party.

Breast cancer isn't all about pink ribbons and cupcakes, and last night our group of models showed that beautiful is a feeling, not an aesthetic.

Standing ovations, applause, cheering and whistling were some ways guests showed their admiration for our breast cancer beauties.

We're still in the process of tallying our total fundraising figure...bear with us as this may take us a bit of time. We're excited to share the amount raised for Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program and McGrath Foundation.

Stay tuned for further updates, videos and photos. If you've got your own favourite photos, please share them in comments below.

Dear breast cancer survivors,
We see you
We hear you
We support you
We are you.

The team behind Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party wish to acknowledge the support and interest from Meg Bolton - journalist and ABC News to share the story of this group of breast cancer survivors and business community supporters.

The physical, emotional and mental impacts of breast cancer need to be seen and normalised in mainstream media just like this story. It's not all about pink ribbons and cupcakes, although the awareness they bring is certainly a bonus.

We're beyond thrilled to see our up in lights. 🎗👏🏼

Guests will receive delectable cookies from Mary Made Co. The only problem is you'll need to wait until Saturday night to get your hands on these delicacies.

How scrumptious do they look? Thank you, Hanna and Kris.

Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party is an event organised FOR the people, BY the people. Representatives from the Sunshine Coast breast cancer community banded together to bring this breast cancer fashion parade and fundraiser to life.

The event is jointly fundraising for Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program and McGrath Foundation, which will be made possible because of the generosity and support of local businesses, donors and sponsors.

Donations of raffle prizes, silent auction items, gift bag items and financial contributions have been warmly welcomed by the organising team.

Please join us and put your hands together for these generous businesses, organisations and individuals 👏🏼

🎗 Seating arrangements 🎗

Event organisers for Beauties, Breasts and Bubbles: Fashion Parade and Cocktail Party have attempted to accommodate guest seating requests where possible.

The high demand for tickets has resulted in the venue table size having to be increased to 10 per table instead of 8, which means some groups will be meeting new friends at the event (e.g. table bookings of 8 will have two additional guests seated at their table).

In some instances, larger groups (in excess of 10 guests requested to be seated together) have been split across two tables in order to cater for uneven group numbers and other guest seating requests. Rest assured that split groups will be seated at neighbouring tables on the floorplan.

We appreciate your understanding that seating arrangements may not be perfect for everyone but we know the venue will be full of support, generosity and community spirit!
