This was the question that changed the trajectory of this client’s health.

Our paths crossed initially for weight loss support. But as I listened to her story, I knew there was something else going on.

Because truth be told the foods she was eating were not inherently bad and...
She was trying.
She was consistent.
She was committed.

Yet she was still struggling with ongoing bowel issues, unstable blood sugar which was contributing to energy and mood issues and diabetes that felt impossible to get under control.

She had undergone colonoscopies. Investigations. Specialist appointments. And each time, she was told everything looked normal.

What no one had explained was this.
Gut health is not just about what is not there.
It is about BALANCE.

Traditional testing looks for a handful of parasites or obvious inflammation. If nothing significant shows up, the conversation often ends there. Sometimes with an IBS label or a long list of foods to avoid.

BUT what is rarely explored is the microbial balance of the gut.
The good bacteria.
The opportunistic bacteria.
How well your gut is actually functioning day to day.

So we went deeper.

We ran a comprehensive Microbiome Map. Not just looking for parasites or inflammation, but assessing how her gut was breaking down food, producing short chain fatty acids, supporting immune health, regulating blood sugar, and maintaining its protective barrier.

Her results were revealing.

An overgrowth of opportunistic bacteria.
A parasite.
Very low levels of beneficial bacteria.

Her immune system had been under strain for a long time. The scales were tipped, and her body needed structured, targeted support.

Not surprisingly, she had already tried probiotics digestive enzymes and any other 'answer to her problems'. But without knowing what needed correcting, they were never going to be effective. Or sustainable.

With a personalised treatment plan designed specifically for her needs, everything began to shift.

The bloating disappeared.
Her energy returned.
Her blood sugar stabilised.
Her diabetes came back under control.
She lost 5kg, without chasing weight loss.

Even her specialist noticed. Her results showed positive improvements, and she was asked what she had been doing differently.

This is what makes Food Mood Mojo different.

We do not dismiss symptoms.
We do not stop at normal.
And we do not believe your body is broken.

We listen. We investigate. We connect the dots, so you can finally understand what your body has been asking for all along.

💫 Sometimes the answers are deeper than we have been told. Let us explore them together. Send me a message to get started or book online via the website.

Less mess & budget friendly? I got you💃✨ I recently stumbled across this way to chop a pomegranate, and it turns out I wasn’t alone with 83% of you also team chop and hope for the best…until now.

Pomegranates are loaded with antioxidants, including Vitamin C, which support progesterone production & help manage cortisol by reducing oxidative stress.

Making them an ideal addition to salads, breakfasts and anything else you feel inspired to sprinkle them over.

Enjoy x

By now, this really should be common practice.

If you’re still searching for answers to your persistent gut issues, and microbial diversity hasn’t been investigated, this is your sign.

Because honestly, if you can see improvements in overall health in as little as 10 days, not just isolated gastrointestinal symptoms…

why wouldn’t you start with food?

I received a message from a client yesterday that made me stop and smile. It was a picture of her daughter’s carrot sticks and hummus, which she’d been curious to try after watching her Mum enjoy recently.

The week before she’d also tried her Mum’s fish, and loved it! So last week fish was on the menu🥹

Oh, and there’s a new frozen blueberries obsession!

And, as any parent knows, getting your kids to try new things isn’t always the easiest. So when the kids are inspired by their Mum’s new habits? You bet that’s a win!

And it’s these wins that serve are a timely reminder of why I do what I do.

Because when you learn how to nourish yourself with the right foods, it doesn’t just change your health… it changes your family’s too 💃🏼✨

Food is more than fuel: It’s the foundation of health

Symptoms like migraines, bloating, food sensitivities, and nutrient deficiencies are your body’s way of asking for help.

And while it’s common to blame hormones, stress, or life, there’s one factor that influences your biology more than most realise:

The food you eat.

That’s why we specialise in a personalised, food-first approach 💃🏼✨

Curious why your Mood & Mojo feel so good after a few days in the sun, compared to days spent inside?

Most people know Vitamin D is important for bone health…but what often gets missed is how essential it is for your mood, energy, immunity, and even your cholesterol (yes, low Vit. D is associated with elevated LDL).

Vitamin D deficiency is something I see often in clinic and even more so at this time of year.

Fatigue, low motivation, that flat or heavy feeling, and recurring infections so often ties back to low Vit. D

And despite this, it’s not a nutrient most GPs routinely test for even though:

~ It’s absorbed in the same part of the small intestine as iron (which ✨IS✨commonly tested for fatigue)
~ Absorption can be affected if you’re experiencing gastrointestinal inflammation, dysbiosis, chronic pain, or taking certain medications.

The good news? Sunshine is free 😉
And habit-stacking it with a walk is one of the easiest health wins you can make.

Even 10–20 minutes a few times a week (while staying sunsmart) can help lift your levels, especially in winter when they naturally dip 🪫

And if your levels are already low (I like to see clients sitting around 100 nmol/L), a liquid vitamin D supplement can be a great option. It’s absorbed sublingually (in the mouth) bypassing the digestive system and increasing levels more effectively.

So in a nutshell, the recipe for a Winter mood boost is as simple as: Sunshine + Movement.

Sometimes, the simplest things really do make the biggest difference 💃🏼✨

“I eat salad, with steak. Not steak, with salad” I remarked casually to a client last week.

It wasn’t anything profound, just a passing thought, but it clearly struck a chord.

This week, she excitedly shared she’s been changing her portions to focus more on salad ‘with’ steak as the addition. And she can’t believe how much better she feels in herself!

💃🏼 More energy
🤝🏼 Less snacking
😴 And, sleeping well

Who would’ve thought food could be so powerful 🙊

A lot of what I say during consultations is simple, authentic, and driven by my passion for making nutrition uncomplicated.

I don’t try to overwhelm my clients with intricate advice. I prefer a pragmatic approach that focuses on easy-to-implement strategies.

For example, take the classic sweet potato vs. potato debate. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Sure, they’re nutritionally different, but in the context of a day or week? They make up a small portion of your diet.

I believe the focus should always be on balance and enjoying what you eat, not stressing over small details.

If your family loves steak, cook the steak! You can have salad with steak while they enjoy their steak and salad. Everyone wins!

But WHY the emphasis on salad?

1️⃣ Because it increases the colour on your plate.

2️⃣ Our FMM foundations focus on foods that support gut and liver health. Both of which are crucial for balanced hormones, metabolism and overall health.

You see, it’s the vitamins and minerals in your colourful salad, fruit & veggies that provide your body with nutrients to function optimally.

And yet, colour is the one thing most people lack in their diets.

So, if you’ve been looking to optimise your health, the solution might be simpler than you think. Take a moment to reflect on how much colour is on your plate and where you can add a little more. Then, see how you feel!

And, if you need some support with your health then you can book a 1:1 consultation with me today. We’ll develop a personalised plan and get you back to feeling your best 💃🏼✨

Last week, I celebrated another trip around the sun with some of my nearest and dearest 🪩✨

As I reflect on the day, I can’t help but notice how much my celebrations, and my approach to life, have evolved over the years.

It wasn’t about grand gestures. It was about the simple joys: sunshine, good company, and cake (because honestly, who doesn’t love cake? 🍰).

What really stood out to me was how these moments now mirror the transformation I’ve experienced, as well as the incredible shifts I’ve seen in the lives of my clients.

One woman, for example, used to be terrified of stepping foot in the gym. But after working together, the gym became a natural next step in her journey. It helped her reach her body goals and, most importantly, gave her a supportive community of like-minded people. Today, she proudly calls herself a gym lover—a transformation she once thought was impossible💃

And that’s what I truly celebrate: the subtle growth along the way that enhances your mood, and unlocks your mojo.

I tell clients weekly, “Just wait, in 6-12 months’ time, you’ll look back and realise just how far you’ve come and how your lifestyle has changed for the better.”

And, it’s this gradual, consistent approach that truly leads to long-lasting success. We’re removing the pressure and guilt that comes with thinking food and lifestyle need to be perfect 100% of the time.

Because life happens, and sometimes things don’t always go to plan. But when you have the knowledge and understanding of what YOUR body needs and how to get back on track, you don’t worry. You simply pivot and look forward to getting back into routine when you can. And, this is the mindset that allows you to take back control of your health.

So here’s to embracing change, celebrating life’s special occasions, and leaning into the small shifts that make the biggest impact in our lives.
