Changing your mindset around how you think your body should look and the time it should take to get there is probably holding you back.

Building a body, changing a body all takes time and setting unrealistic expectations is only hindering your progress.

Take the expectations out and be consistent in the "do".

It will happen.

🍔You can have your carbs and eat them too🍔

Oh God.... Don't get us started on a "No Carb" diet... please.

This has to be one of the biggest BS notions when it comes to Nutrition and dieting. CARBS DONT MAKE YOU FAT.

Carbs are essential in any diet as it provides the body with glucose that is then converted into energy and supports your daily activity and are actually your body's preferred energy source.

Being aware of your calorie intake is the biggest tool you can have when trying to lose fat. It's not about cutting carbs out of your nutrition it's about knowing how much carbs you can eat to MAINTAIN a healthy body weight and NOT OVEREATING.

Yes, there are definitely better carbs to eat that the body can digest better and convert to energy but again, weightloss is a numbers game.

Does Keto work? Haha I guess it does because people cut out all the amazing carbs they eat and enjoy and head into a CALORIE DEFICIT, however most people will put the weight back on and then some because it's not a SUSTAINABLE lifestyle.

You can eat carbs and still be in a deficit therefore LOSE FAT and be happy........ and eat the bread, pizza and rice.

Moral of the story... be like Susan - eat the corn chips

Say what!!

Yep, this is a complete myth, sweating during a workout is not an indicator of burning more fat. Sweating more does not mean you worked harder or lost more fat. Sweat is exactly what it looks like.... water - you are losing fluid not fat and it's your body's way to control temperature.

ON THE GO MEAL WE LOOOVVVEEE!

We are mums, we run businesses and we are busy like so many!!

One of our favourite things to do is EAT! We are both such foodies and love our whole foods but protein smoothies really do have a place in any eating routine for a couple of different reasons

1. They are so quick and so versatile!
2. Hitting macro goals

Let's face it, sometimes we aren't prepped and this is such a great way to grab something quick and something nutritious!

For those looking at macros - this is such a great way to ensure you are hitting those targets especially your protein!

I personally am using True protein powder right now and absolutely love it and here is one of the easiest, well balanced smoothies that ticks all the boxes!

1 scoop of TRUE choc protein powder
1 whole Banana
1 Tablespoon of Natural Peanut butter
1 cup of Iced water or Almond Milk

WEIGHTLOSS IS A NUMBERS GAME!

The truth is - the ONLY way to lose weight is looking at calories in VS energy out! This simply means that you need to put out more energy than what you are consuming.

There is a fear around food, hesitation and wayyyyyy too much overthinking that creates that fear and as a result people fear eating. So let's look at this differently - FOOD IS ENERGY!! No matter what you feed yourself, it always comes back to calories in Vs energy out or let's say energy in (food) VS energy out (activity burning your energy).

Yes there is absolutely better "Energy" you can fuel yourself with and honestly if you look at good VS bad energy (food) you will find that the better you choose the more you can actually eat - let's face it, no one likes to be hungry!

So our number 1 rule here is "fresh is always best" and where you can choose fresh, you absolutely should. If you can find a happy place with your food where you are not gaining weight then it really doesn't matter what kind of exercise you are doing - you will find it will put you in a deficit and excess fat loss will naturally happen.

Exercise should never be a punishment, it releases endorphins and should make you feel amazing but it's so important to find something you love to do!

If you hate it - STOP IT! If you try something new and after a couple of weeks you still hate it - find something new!

Whether it be weight training, running, riding a bike, swimming, yoga or a sport - find what you enjoy and this journey will be so much more pleasant!.
