Today is International Day of People with Disability. Today, as well as every day, should be a day that we recognise the amazing contributions and achievements of people living with a disability.

Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day. Cerebral Palsy can affect people in different ways, with different severities. Cerebral Palsy is a highly misunderstood disability, with many people underestimating the ability and intellect of someone with Cerebral Palsy. The NDIS is an amazing scheme that allows people with disability to have more freedom and independence than ever. However, there are certainly things that need to be addressed and improved. Today is International Day of Sign Languages. There are approximately 300 sign languages worldwide. In Australia, deaf people use Auslan, which is rich in culture and history is unique to other languages worldwide. Auslan is always adapting and changing, with additions of new words, just like any other language. This quick video will show you how to describe your friends and family, and greet people in Auslan.

This week is International Week of Deaf People. Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the first language of many people living in Australia who are deaf, or affected by hearing loss.
