Don’t forget Term 1 for postpartum classes start next year 16th January, mark your calendars! 🎉

🌟 For whom:
Any postpartum mamas cleared to exercise. All backgrounds and fitness levels welcome. (Pregnant mamas are still welcome please message me before booking).

🌟 What type of workouts:
Strength + conditioning based workouts specific to postpartum rehab + recovery guided by a Postnatal Fitness Specialist

🌟How many spots:
Limited to the first 10 mamas (first come first serve)

🌟Where: Maroochydore Studio. Address available on booking.

🌟When: 2 classes per fortnight, 9am Monday the first week and Wednesday 10:30am the second week.

🌟 How much: Term 1 will be heavily discounted to a special price of $199 for all 6 weeks. (Please note: price will increase in Term 2.)

Exercising While Pregnant: Why You Should, and How to Do It Safely.

There are exercises and strategies that can make pregnancy more comfortable, delivery a little easier, and postpartum recovery faster.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that every pregnancy is different. Just because something worked well during one pregnancy doesn’t mean that form of exercise will be a good idea with subsequent pregnancies.

Things to Remember;
- Keep your core and pelvic floor connected during pregnancy
- Contract your core for mind-muscle connection
- Avoid Harmful exercises during pregnancy
- Avoid abdominal doming
- Relax and contract your pelvic floor while doing core exercises.

Training with a coach that understands when to exercise caution, try a modification, or stop altogether is so critical in assisting your workouts while pregnant.

It's not quite true that there's nothing you can do in that first 6 weeks.⁠

1 and 2. Toe Raises or Ankle Pumps can be done pretty much straight off (depending if you had anaesthesia or not) and can help relieve ankle swelling. If you had a c-section and do these regularly you might be allowed to ditch those nasty compression socks early!⁠

3 and 4. All of the neck and shoulder mobility - there's really no contraindication to doing these immediately postpartum and can alleviate new breastfeeding/cuddling postures (tight neck, pecs, and traps). Neck stretches might be very well received if you've had a night or two in hospital and you've not been in your bed. ⁠

5. Gentle Walking* can be started from whenever you are comfortable to do so⁠

*Unless you have been advised against this for medical reasons. ⁠

I know it's not much, but even just a bit of movement can help improve the mood, the circulation and how your body feels. ⁠

Poor mechanics can cause:⁣

💨 Extra pressure on pelvic organs, this can even lead to symptoms such as leaking!! ⁣

💨 Tight abdominal muscles as they are meant to relax to allow for correct breathing, particularly on an inhale⁣

💨 Poor lung filling as the diaphragm needs to decent and lateral (side expansion) needs to happen to allow the lungs to fill fully⁣

💨 Tight necks and shoulders as ‘accessory muscles’ which are those of the neck and shoulder take over if we aren’t breathing correctly, meaning overuse/incorrect use ⁣

Let's talk about c-section scars!
These scars can cause issues in obtaining a “flat” stomach again. It can also cause discomfort or even pain with certain movements as well as other potential
health issues in time if the scar tissue isn’t worked on.
Lots of c-section Mama’s talk about a c-section “pooch” that is either right above the scar, below the scar, or both.
To help you flatten out this pooch, get rid of discomfort, and avoid future issues stemming from the scar, we need to work on the scar tissue.

But I always recommend checking in with your OB/GYN first for
the all-clear.

Now I want to share it all with you, the complete blueprint that I wish someone had given me years ago.
