Weekend Shananigans…with a beautiful bunch of little people…big brothers soccer games for Zahli & Louise (while Sarah had the day off, lovely to get to know you Zahli!, I promise I will bring my Bluey books next time!), Bird World Animal farm with James & Guriya (James enjoyed getting up close to a colourful parrot) & Nalissa & Casey, then Sunday at Caloundra Markets with Lyla & Arden. Lyla is loving dancing to live music at the moment (lucky Nalissa has rhythm!) & Arden loved seeing, & patting lots of different dogs (the St Bernard pictured was his favourite!), eating cinnamon doughnuts & choc chip cookies, swinging with Louise at Happy Valley, & eating lunch by the beach 🏖️

One of our lovely families has donated this wagon to LBR but it is not getting enough use (it is hard to fit in car with multiple wheelchairs) They are happy for us to gift it to one of our families, so if you would like to claim it, please DM Louise!🏖️

A recovery kind of week for 2 little troopers post surgery. As we all know life isn’t always unicorns for our Little Beans. This week both Arden & Casey are recovering from surgery of very different kinds. A pre surgery visit for Casey from Nalissa & a post op visit to Little Bean base for Arden today where he made dinosaur footprint biscuits with Nalissa, listened to music
& cuddled up on the couch to watch a Baby Animal doco with Louise. We are very happy to support our kids post - op, providing they have had a few days at home to get their pain under control first (we all like to be at home first up!) There is no shortage of TLC around here! 🥰
TV is rarely a go to for us but sometimes a little R & R is needed. We hope you are both back to your full of fun selves soon beautiful boys! 💙💙

As someone with firsthand experience of the vital role therapy plays in the lives of children with disabilities, I am deeply concerned by the recent cuts to NDIS Allied Health funding. This is not only a budgetary issue, it is a fundamental human rights concern. When children require therapy, it is highly beneficial for therapists to observe participants in their home environment, enabling them to adjust equipment as the child grows and identify needs within the home where daily life unfolds. Clinic based therapies will likely exacerbate carer burnout, as families will be required to transport their children to frequent therapy appointments. Considering the weekly or fortnightly Speech, Physio, and Occupational Therapy needs of the children on our caseload, I fear this will significantly contribute to carer burnout, potentially affecting families as a whole NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme
