💗 FEBRUARY FEEL ON THE FIRST! 💗

New month, new check-in — your monthly breast check! 🌸 Take a few minutes to look, feel, and know what’s normal for you.

Check for:
✔️ Lumps or thickened areas
✔️ Changes in shape or size
✔️ Skin dimpling or puckering

✔️ Unusual or persistent pain

Early detection saves lives, and taking a moment for yourself is always worth it. 💕

🌸 Meet Amy – Our Breast Care Nurse 🌸

1️⃣ What do you love most about working in breast cancer care?
"The most rewarding part of my job is building meaningful connections with patients and seeing the difference that consistent support can make in their experience." 💛

2️⃣ What’s one thing you wish more people knew about breast health or support?
"Breast care nurses are there not only to explain scans and treatments, but to help people and families cope, ask questions they’re afraid to ask, and navigate what can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to ‘be strong’ all the time—and you don’t have to go through it alone. Early conversations, ongoing support, and trusted guidance make a real difference at every stage."

3️⃣ What’s something that brings you joy outside of work?
"Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with my family and being active. I love running and sport—they help me switch off and clear my head—and the beach is my reset button. Fresh air, movement, and time with the people I love bring me the most joy." 🌊🏃‍♀️

We’re so grateful for Amy’s dedication, compassion, and the difference she makes every day! 💖

💡 Breast Cancer Myth 💡

Myth: Young people don’t get breast cancer.
Truth: While risk increases with age, breast cancer can and does occur in people under 40. Awareness, self-checks, and early reporting of changes are important at any age.

Remember: It’s never too early to be breast aware! 💖

We love seeing the community come together like this 💗

The Sunshine Coast Breast Cancer Friendship Circle offers something truly special — connection with others who get it. Shared lived experience, understanding, and the comfort of knowing you’re not walking this path alone can make such a difference.

For anyone in our community looking for peer support alongside the practical help we provide through the Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program, this group may be a wonderful resource.

Thank you to SCBCFC for creating a safe, supportive space built on friendship, empathy, and understanding.

✨ Because no one should feel alone.
