Contraction After Expansion 💥
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - integration from any energetic experience is essential! If we don't prioritise the integration, we will be stuck on a cycle of seeking the next "thing" to give us the feeling of expansion once again.
I've had multiple conversations with clients this week about what an integration process can look like. Whether it be integration from a mentoring program, a medicine ceremony, or a big energy healing.
During the experience itself, the expansion can feel so beautiful and high vibrational. But we can't always maintain that in our physical reality - and the truth is, we aren't meant to. We are still physical beings, having a physical experience. There is nothing wrong, nothing to fix. It's a process of allowing the unfolding of what was to LAND.
This contraction serves a purpose. Just with every inhale, an exhale must follow. This is the dance of walking the spiritual and physical worlds concurrently.
When I hold group shamanic ceremony, we always end the night on such a high. I drive home feeling completely blissed out and so deeply grateful. But the next day, I feel a contraction where I want to be very introspective and insular. It was typical for me to have imposter syndrome the day after ceremony, and a lot of self doubt come in. Now I can recognise the contraction, without going into a story about what it means.
The contraction can be simply experienced through the feeling state - not the thinking state. Our inner world has had a shake up, and this often means our outer world experiences one too. Integration processes can feel like doubt, fear, not feeling ready, regression, crumbling, things not in flow - this is very common!
This is why I send out the after care suggestions following every ceremony or session. Not just as a nagging reminder to take care of your physical body, but to support you through the contraction. The physical body and physical experience has to ADJUST to the new frequency brought through from the experience. The adjustment takes time, space and care. Simply be present with what is, patient, and offer yourself lots of compassion. It too shall pass ❤️🔥
