In mindfulness, we are simply paying attention to our present-moment experience in a non-reactive, non-judgmental way. Try not to have any expectations regarding your experience. Simply observe your experience without trying to change it into something other than what it is.

With this way of paying attention, we are not expecting or hoping for something. We are also not trying to generate anything. We are merely observing the breath and our experience closely. In this way we embrace the ‘being’ mode.

Have you ever wanted to learn mindfulness? Our next course starts soon!

Mindfulness can lead us into happiness and wisdom. With this simple practice we can discover peace and insight by working directly with our own mind.

Ben has over 25 years’ experience in both traditional Buddhist and contemporary Western approaches and has taught hundreds of people how to practice mindfulness.

This course will show you how to develop your own personal practice, with comprehensive written handouts provided each week. In this way you will come to see how mindfulness can take us far beyond what we may have thought possible!

On 18th June the Moon will be meeting the Sun in the sign of Gemini. The Moon here emphasizes communication, socializing and having fun. With Neptune squaring the moon, this could highlight a time of sensitivity or confusion around one’s feelings and the need to avoid and clarify misunderstandings. Saturn stationing retrograde allows us to slow down, look at all the angles and take some time before making any big decisions. Mercury in Gemini on the other hand helps us to clarify our thought processes, and to communicate clearly and effectively! Kirsten offers a personal 12-month predictive astrology reading using a variety of forecasting techniques and analysis of your unique birth chart. Together we discuss the areas of life that you would like to explore and are most important to you at this time. Kirsten will then provide an overview and deep insight into those areas and the year ahead.

The reading can provide details about career & finances, love & relationships, health & well-being, as well as personal development and growth.

The Predictive Astrology forecast includes a short intuitive reading to provide additional guidance.

During the second part of your session you'll enjoy a relaxing energy healing treatment that balances the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of your being.

If, with mindfulness’ rope,
The elephant of the mind is tethered all around,
Our fears will come to nothing,
Every virtue drop into our hands.

Cultivating mind’s inherent capacity to stay put is called mindfulness training. Mindfulness is like the rope that keeps the wild elephant from destroying everything in sight. The rope of mindfulness brings us back to our immediate experience: to our breath, to our walking, to the book in our hands.

This point is essential: mindfulness tethers the mind to the present. Initially this takes effort, but this effort is applied with a very light touch. It’s like brushing your teeth: you brush, you get distracted, and you just naturally come back. No big deal.

And so it goes with mindfulness training: mind is present, mind wanders, and mind comes back. No big deal. By gently returning to the present, gradually all our fears will come to nothing, every virtue drop into our hands. When mind calms down, everything seems workable.

Now Shantideva’s words might give us the idea that this will be quick: “I’ll work with my mind and by this time next month my problems may be over.” But in truth, our mental habits are ancient and take awhile to unwind. So we need to train with patience, intelligence, and gentleness.

These supportive qualities will then increase; at times they may seem to magically drop into our hands.

When the mind is settled, virtuous qualities come to us more naturally. We have fresh insights and more kindness, relaxation, and steadiness.

With this simple practice we can discover deep peace and insight by working directly with our own mind and emotions. In this way, mindfulness can lead us into happiness and wisdom, resulting in greater mental wellbeing.

In this 8-week course you will be guided to develop your own authentic mindfulness practice. Each week you will receive comprehensive handout material to support your practice.

We have 2 courses starting in July. Places are limited, so book early! See below for times and dates:

Wednesday mornings: 10am - 11:30am
