Some of the things I can help you with:

Gut health:
Gut health always needs to be considered in any condition. Your gut is the epicentre of your physical and mental health and is also called your second brain. It can sense and control events not only in the digestive tract but also in other parts of the body, is involved in the production of neurochemicals (such as serotonin and dopamine), and houses 70% of your immune system. An unhealthy gut has been linked to many diseases from mood, memory, depression, joint pain to autoimmune disease and cancer. Mental health:
Mental health problems such as depression can have many causes such as an unhealthy gut, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal problems and food intolerances. Talk to me about genetic testing to find out if a genetic trait is responsible for your mood disorder. Stress:
Stress is the cause for many illnesses and diseases. During high-stress times, it is very important to support your body in every way you can by providing the appropriate nutrients and taking some herbs that help your body adapt to stressful situations. Hormonal Health:
Hormonal imbalances can play a lot of havoc in our body: PMS, endometriosis, menopause, hypothyroidism, sleep deprivation and much more. Often the right diet and herbal intervention can help you correct your hormone levels. Fertility Support:
Sometimes help is needed to achieve the dream of having a baby. Studies show that nutritional deficiencies, toxins and other factors influence the health of the egg up to 100 days before ovulation.

Regular blood tests provide valuable insights into your health, but understanding what they reveal and how to prepare makes all the difference.

Set yourself up for success with these key guidelines:

✅ Get a restful night's sleep

✅ Avoid strenuous exercise the night before

✅ Eat a balanced meal—don’t overindulge or fast unnecessarily

✅ Manage stress to keep cortisol levels in check

✅ Stay well-hydrated

✅ Postpone if you're feeling unwell (cold, flu, or infection)

✅ Schedule between 7 AM and 8 AM for optimal results

✅ Fast for 8-12 hours—not shorter or longer

✅ Stop non-essential medications at least 3 days prior

✅ Ensure you are not menstruating

Following these precautions helps ensure reliable results and a smoother testing experience.

Is it time to reconsider your use of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)?

I’ve seen so many clients who, after long-term use of PPIs, actually end up experiencing worsening symptoms. These medications are typically recommended for short-term use (4-8 weeks), but many people find it difficult to stop and end up taking them for years.

If you're currently on PPIs, it's important not to quit them abruptly. Always work with a qualified healthcare practitioner who can guide you safely through the process of discontinuing them.

Your health is too important to leave to chance—reach out for the right support!

How do you cook your rice?

Here is the best way to remove arsenic from rice. Arsenic is water-soluble and accumulates in rice that is grown in flooded fields. Exposure to it affects almost every organ in the body and can cause many different diseases.

A study showed that the "parboiling with absorption method" (PBA) removed most of the arsenic, while not removing the micronutrients in cooked rice. The PBA method involves parboiling the rice in pre-boiled water for five minutes before draining and refreshing the water, then cooking it on a lower heat to absorb all the water.

Indulge Without the Bulge this Holiday Season!

🌟 Greetings from Switzerland! 🌟

I am so happy to finally have made it to my home country (after 5 years of not being able to travel) where I enjoy my family and the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland and where holiday magic meets childhood nostalgia. I am embracing the festive spirit and savouring not only the delectable treats that make this season special but also simple foods that I have missed in Australia.

I think my suitcase won't be the only one gaining weight when I get back home. But, I do a few things to avoid putting on too much extra weight by following my tips that I give my clients:

1. Mindful Eating:
✨ Savour Every Bite: Indulge your taste buds, but with a twist. Give your body time to digest and repair by adopting mindful eating habits. Enjoy your favourite treats without overloading your system. Avoid constant snacking and ensure there's a gap of a few hours between meals.

2. Smart Carb Choices:
🍫 Chocoholics' Delight: Relish the high-carb delights like chocolate and croissants, but with a strategic approach. Consume these delights earlier in the day, allowing your body ample time to burn those extra calories.

3. Move and Groove:
🚶‍♀️ Stay Active, Stay Healthy: While the holiday season might disrupt your regular exercise routine, make a conscious effort to move. I’m taking in the breathtaking Swiss scenery with leisurely walks and opt for stairs whenever possible. Every step counts!

✨ Gift Yourself Health: Make this holiday season about joy, memories, and a healthier you. With a few mindful choices, you can indulge in the festive delights without worrying about excess weight. Your body will thank you for the balance!

🎁 What are you doing this Christmas? Wherever you are this Christmas, share your festive moments!

Eggs are not only a nutritious addition to your diet, but they can also help you to boost your Vitamin D levels which play a role in supporting a healthy immune system.

Did you know that insufficient Vitamin D3 increases COVID infection risk? D3 was also shown to reduce the severity and mortality associated with COVID infection.

Eggs are easy to prepare, affordable, go with almost any food and taste awesome.

I love frittatas where I can incorporate various vegetables and eggs. What is you favourite recipe with eggs? Let me know if the comments below!

While many people take supplements with the hope of improving their health, it's important to be aware that some supplements can have negative effects on the gut microbiome.

As a health professional, I have observed that some of the ingredients in the supplements that my new clients are taking can actually be harmful. This can lead to a range of issues, such as digestive problems and weakened immunity. Therefore, it's essential to be cautious when choosing supplements and to seek professional advice if you're unsure about the potential risks and benefits.

An expert reviewed allergens that are found in popular supplements and that have been implicated in allergic reactions, including contact dermatitis.

My story

Hi there! My name is Billie and I am the founder of BL Natural Health. As a qualified naturopath I like to help with all health concerns, however gut health is my passion and specialty. I also am very interested in mental & hormonal health.

Being healthy is not supposed to be difficult; it is about making choices that support your wellbeing. I can help you to know what the right choices are to achieve your optimal health.

I don't just treat the symptoms, but look for the cause and address it. I like to connect to my clients, listen to them and understand what is going on in their lives and bodies, which is important for me, as every body is different.
