Stripes Special Needs Resources has been sourcing products from around the globe to help children develop their skills since 2015. As a family with special needs, it soon became apparent that sourcing quality products was one issue but finding an environment suitable for our children who can be so easily overwhelmed in group settings was another. Stripes Special Needs Resources sensory rooms allows you to stimulate senses, explore and interact in safe, calm environments. Our 3 single person spaces are ideal for therapy and one on one interaction and our larger space encourages social interaction, teamwork and communication in a smaller controlled environment. We are one large family who all understand. With workshops, resources and even a library of of products to borrow, we all know that it is our differences that really makes us beautiful.

The Little Sensory Shed is a gorgeous space on Bribie Island who has expanded their current sensory range to include resources for schooling, fine motor and so much more.

As another mum who totally understand the importance of having access to resources for our children, I truly hope our wonderful community will continue to support her as you have done for us over the years.

****Changes to Stripes****

Its with a heavy heart that I announce that the sensory rooms at Kuluin, Sunshine Coast will be closing permanently on Friday 18th December 2020.

Whilst Covid has certainly taken it’s toll on the business, it has also highlighted the importance of helping families create their own sensory spaces within their own environments.

So whilst our rooms are closing, 2021 will see Stripes offering you a new large range of online resources plus a new exciting service of working with your family and world-wide sensory specialists to help design and create your very own individualized sensory space.

We thank you for your continued support and are excited to work with you in designing a sensory space just for you!

Visuals don’t always need to be for schedules, having them for learning support with tactile input can be helpful for our sensory learners.

It has without doubt been a tricky time for most of us and are so pleased to see some sort of normality coming back into our lives. We all know how important routines are and to have that thrown out the window sure has been tough!

So....we are stoked to announce that our sensory rooms will be opening with reduced hours as of next week. At this stage only Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's will be open so sessions will be limited. But it's a start 🙌🙌🙌.

It’s with a heavy heart that we advise that we have had to turn off our lights for the last time😢

In the best interest of our families and the need to encourage everyone to stay at home Stripes Sensory Rooms will need to remain closed until further notice.

Naturally this has been difficult to unfold but the health and well-being of all is paramount.

All sensory room passes will have expiration dates extended during this time.

Your sensory needs can still be fulfilled with our online resources and subscription boxes which can be delivered until any changes affecting freight and Aus Post come into effect.

Thank you for your support since our room opening last year. We sincerely hope your continued support will see us carry through to the other side.

We love what we do and love seeing our families thrive everyday you all come in.

In times of uncertainly we are looking at the concept of introducing sensory subscription boxes to give our children a bit of excitement of being the recipient of a special package.

Each box will have an assortment of sensory items, visuals and resources to assist with anxiety and self regulation. Prices will vary depending on frequency of packages and of course package sizes. They will be set boxes and can be customised if you are working towards specific goals.

We hope this will be a fun way to keep therapeutic goals going in the comfort of your home!
