Happy 18th Anniversary Physio Professionals!

It's incredible to celebrate this milestone, and we are so grateful for the dedication, hard work, and collaborative spirit that have made these years such a success for our company.

We especially want to thank Andrew and Michelle Crew for your leadership, which has guided us through both challenges and triumphs, making our team stronger and more resilient than ever.

Tennis Elbow: Causes, Symptoms & How to Fix It

What is Tennis Elbow?
Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) is a common overuse injury that affects the tendons on the outside of the elbow. It’s caused by repetitive wrist and forearm movements, leading to tiny microtears in the tendon, inflammation, and pain. Despite the name, you don’t have to play tennis to get it!

What Causes It?

Tennis Elbow is triggered by repeated gripping, lifting, or twisting motions. Common causes include:
✔️ Racket sports like tennis and squash
✔️ Repetitive use of tools (screwdrivers, hammers, drills)
✔️ Typing, mouse use, or excessive phone scrolling
✔️ Weightlifting and resistance training
✔️ Repetitive gripping in jobs like carpentry, plumbing, or painting

What Does the Pain Feel Like?

🔹 A dull ache or sharp pain on the outer elbow
🔹 Pain that worsens when gripping, lifting, or twisting
🔹 Weakness in the hand or difficulty holding objects (e.g., a coffee cup)
🔹 Stiffness and tenderness, especially in the morning

How to Manage & Prevent It

1️⃣ Modify Activities – Reduce repetitive strain and avoid gripping too tightly.
2️⃣ Strengthen & Stretch – Target the forearm muscles with controlled exercises to rebuild strength.
3️⃣ Hands-On Treatment – Physiotherapy, soft tissue release, and bracing can speed up recovery.

If you’re experiencing pain at the front of your knee, especially during activities like running, cycling, or squatting, you might have Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) – also known as Runner’s Knee.

🔎 What Causes PFPS?

1️⃣ Overuse & Overload – Repetitive movements like running, jumping, or a sudden increase in training intensity can stress the knee joint.

2️⃣ Muscle Imbalances & Weakness – Weak quads, glutes, and hip stabilizers can put excessive strain on the knee. Tight hamstrings, quads, IT band, and calves may also affect knee movement and alignment.

3️⃣ Patella Maltracking – If your kneecap isn’t moving smoothly in its groove, it can cause friction and discomfort.
