When you have a sense of the health your body is capable of, are you willing to do everything you can to obtain and maintain it?

Body Priority
Osteopathy was designed for to target deep specific causes of dis-ease in the body to support deep healing, even within hospital settings. Dr A.T.Still was the original 'lightning bone setter' but did a lot more than just joint manipulation š«¶

A lot of my time i spend with people, in person.
I love people, people are great!
However talking to screens and sharing on social media has been a step i've needed to take so i can share with people more about the work that I do, a different skill set.
Receiving quality support from others to do the things that we aren't achieving on our own isn't a sign of weakness, it's the strength of what's available through community and connection.
Very grateful for the support of Matt Fisher Media to make these videos happen!
How'd we go?

An osteopath is a bit like a surgeon.
There's plenty of ways an osteopath is not like a surgeon too, like not actually performing surgical procedures, but i'm not here to talk about that side of things.
However in regards to how we stack up on a bodyworker scale there's a lot about osteopathy which seems to go unrecognised due to the complexity and a lot of it is recognised through the experience rather than being able to visually document it.
I've heard of way too many allopathic doctors and nurses confidently state that an osteopath performs the same role as a massage therapist, and for someone who has studied both massage and osteopathy i totally get the confusion, however this is an issue that needs to be corrected.
Before studying osteopathy in the united states you must become a GP first.
In Italy you must become a physiotherapist first.
At the time i studied osteopathy, we needed to be qualified as a clinical scientist with a double major in "human structure & function" & "Osteopathy". Over 50% of the participants quit in the first year when they realised how intense the work load was going to be.
Osteopathy is not massage therapy.
The reason i mention the relationship to surgery is because we are targeting specific structures to create specific changes in someones body.
The training our hands go through to listen to the deep and subtle parts of someones body, linked with our training in physics, biomechanics, and depth of comprehension of anatomy is a powerful combo that is incredibly under-rated.
When my hands are working over someone it's like reading a road map of someone behind the skin. A human body will guide me towards physical issues that aren't identified by the big expensive scanning tools all the f'ing time.
The original intention of "osteopathic medicine" as a modality was to work in hospitals to help cure serious ailments by activating and supporting the natural healing mechanisms in someones body, using physics.

Regardless of how aware or unaware you may be, youāre still part of nature.
Any true form of healing is simply there to support the nature of you thatās already trying to heal.

I would really love to be sharing more about what I do, the important thing for me is to be mindful that Im not leading people to false conclusions.
There is a lack of education on a community level about what the best healing path is for each person to take, and I need to take more responsibility for sharing about how I can help people.
Thereās such an incredibly exciting and beautiful world within each and every human and their healing journey, which is rich with information and experience.
Wether itās with me or with a different approach, I still get really excited for cracking the code with any healing journey, and to be honest Iāve been concerned about things like privacy and legalities etc.
There is a heap of people I have been able to help with all types of pain, movement, avoiding surgery, and other life changing moments, which Iām so deeply grateful to be able to offer, and it is important that I share some of this.
With or without me when someone gets a win on their healing journey I still get really excited, and im still learning and improving constantly. But thereās also the respect that Iām doing some great work (Check out the reviews on Google)
Iām so fāing here for the wins and helping people find theirs too!

There's always a good reason to choose being healthy, movement or exercise will always be part of that story.

How does osteopathy work?
Itās like magic!
A lot of the osteopathic techniques are about the use of physics and the impact on anatomy and physiology.
Thereās a bunch of different types of medicine out there.. alopathic, natural, Chinese.. this is where you will find the core foundations of Osteopathic medicine.
A lot of our techniques you can find in every other manual therapy style, being the nature of it is coming back to the basic elements of universal laws.

Chaseās (..short?) story š
Initially born in Brisbane. Travelled the world (#54 countries). Now living in the beautiful Coolangatta.
Fitness has always been apart of who I am, growing up I had a super active childhood, with heaps of time outdoors in the ocean, climbing up trees or camping and hiking through the bush or floating down rivers. A few of the main activities that had been an influence in the early years was swimming, soccer, tennis, martial arts, rollerblading and bike riding and whatever randomness kids do..
The feminine side of the family had been a big influence in regards to the healing arts, closest being my mother Wendy who trained as a Naturopath and always had a good story to tell about how the drug industry was helping to suppress another cure about something, or how a natural remedy would work better to solve some bodily function.. slippery elm for constipation.. utilising the fever response and strengthening the immune system with garlic, chilli and ginger.. etc etc, or if you do a little bit of massage work behind the head you could help relieve a headache without having a pain killer.. So happy to have had that as a strong early influence.
In 2006, I left the corporate world and entered into the health industry with being introduced to a drug free pain relief method known as a TENS machine, a style of electrotherapy which i still occasionally use today. Under supervised instruction, I travelled the country introducing people to the technique through short treatments. This was a very fast way to see people change from having a debilitating condition and being able to watch the mental shift as they returned back to normality (admittedly at this point I still had a super limited understanding of what was happening). This expanded into vibrational massage devices, full bodied massage chairs, mineral enhanced orthotics, detoxifying foot treatments and all kinds of different techniques people were actively using to achieve better health for themselves. This continued for around 5-6 years..
By 2008-2009 I had properly kicked off my fitness journey thanks to Michael Bonney @ CrossFit 4551 on the Sunshine Coast. This was a massive wake up call to what being fit actually meant. Functional fitness, strength building, break the body down to help it build back up. What the hell was this madness?! I used to do around 30-40 push-ups when i went to martial arts.. Learnt what it meant to do them properly, and had to go back onto the knees .. How to succeed in fitness: 1st lesson - remove the ego, learn proper technique š. These guys were all about finding the weakness, any weakness and make it stronger. This continued with Ben Lustig in Melbourne @ Crossfit Moreland and it didnāt get any easier, just more intense.. I used to always push hard, train hard, train lots. After training around 2-3 times per day, i had my first taste of competition, it was heaps of fun, but maybe a bit nuts. These guys were still at another next level tho with their results, and Iām sure it came back to education, understanding how to train smart and not just hard.
2013 I trained to do sports, relaxation and therapeutic massage and picked up some work in a day spa in Melbourne, an all too common story, overworked and underpaid. So it wasnt really viable to continue.. Also I became a Crossfit Level 1 certified trainer, and worked for a few months as a Crossfit coach, and throughly loved it!! But I could tell for what i really wanted to do with people, i needed more training.
So in 2014 I studied to become a Personal trainer, and consequently offered a contract with Steiner to manage the onboard gym of their 6 star cruise ship known as Crystal Serenity. This involved one of the most intense training experiences to become qualified to teach yoga, pilates, bootcamps, spin classes, as well as several detox and nutritional methodologies, not to mention all of the ship related things as well. Basically, a one man sailing gym show, which for me started in north east USA, followed the coast south, continued around the entire southern hemisphere and returned back to head up into the mediterranean, it was epic.
One of the brilliant side benefits of this work, the average age at one point on the ship was 87. Folks were old, rich, and some of them would request a service we call an assisted stretch for half an hour. This was the first time i was really able to unleash the creativity in how to treat someone! Iād give them a personal training session, or theyād do their own training session.. and then after Iād come up with the best way to twist, roll or stretch them out, it was great and I was seeing some really good results, and amazing feedback too.
By the end of 2015 I moved to northern NSW to start studying Osteopathy which has been completely satiating the desire for deep bulk levels of information, and really allowing me and my current clients to see a massive improvement with both the massage skills and the personal training skills. I have now officially completed a bachelor in Clinical Studies (clinical studies incorporates professions like Osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors and naturopaths) With a double major in Osteopathy, and human structure and function.
Iām currently completing my Masters in osteopathy, so essentially iām a bit of a nerd when it comes to fixing people :)
Thank you for taking the interest to read my story ššš
