Osteopathy was designed for to target deep specific causes of dis-ease in the body to support deep healing, even within hospital settings. Dr A.T.Still was the original 'lightning bone setter' but did a lot more than just joint manipulation 🫶

A lot of my time i spend with people, in person.

I love people, people are great!

However talking to screens and sharing on social media has been a step i've needed to take so i can share with people more about the work that I do, a different skill set.

Receiving quality support from others to do the things that we aren't achieving on our own isn't a sign of weakness, it's the strength of what's available through community and connection.

Very grateful for the support of Matt Fisher Media to make these videos happen!

How'd we go?

An osteopath is a bit like a surgeon.

There's plenty of ways an osteopath is not like a surgeon too, like not actually performing surgical procedures, but i'm not here to talk about that side of things.

However in regards to how we stack up on a bodyworker scale there's a lot about osteopathy which seems to go unrecognised due to the complexity and a lot of it is recognised through the experience rather than being able to visually document it.

I've heard of way too many allopathic doctors and nurses confidently state that an osteopath performs the same role as a massage therapist, and for someone who has studied both massage and osteopathy i totally get the confusion, however this is an issue that needs to be corrected.

Before studying osteopathy in the united states you must become a GP first.

In Italy you must become a physiotherapist first.

At the time i studied osteopathy, we needed to be qualified as a clinical scientist with a double major in "human structure & function" & "Osteopathy". Over 50% of the participants quit in the first year when they realised how intense the work load was going to be.

Osteopathy is not massage therapy.

The reason i mention the relationship to surgery is because we are targeting specific structures to create specific changes in someones body.

The training our hands go through to listen to the deep and subtle parts of someones body, linked with our training in physics, biomechanics, and depth of comprehension of anatomy is a powerful combo that is incredibly under-rated.

When my hands are working over someone it's like reading a road map of someone behind the skin. A human body will guide me towards physical issues that aren't identified by the big expensive scanning tools all the f'ing time.

The original intention of "osteopathic medicine" as a modality was to work in hospitals to help cure serious ailments by activating and supporting the natural healing mechanisms in someones body, using physics.

Regardless of how aware or unaware you may be, you’re still part of nature.

Any true form of healing is simply there to support the nature of you that’s already trying to heal.

I would really love to be sharing more about what I do, the important thing for me is to be mindful that Im not leading people to false conclusions.

There is a lack of education on a community level about what the best healing path is for each person to take, and I need to take more responsibility for sharing about how I can help people.

There’s such an incredibly exciting and beautiful world within each and every human and their healing journey, which is rich with information and experience.

Wether it’s with me or with a different approach, I still get really excited for cracking the code with any healing journey, and to be honest I’ve been concerned about things like privacy and legalities etc.

There is a heap of people I have been able to help with all types of pain, movement, avoiding surgery, and other life changing moments, which I’m so deeply grateful to be able to offer, and it is important that I share some of this.

With or without me when someone gets a win on their healing journey I still get really excited, and im still learning and improving constantly. But there’s also the respect that I’m doing some great work (Check out the reviews on Google)

I’m so f’ing here for the wins and helping people find theirs too!

There's always a good reason to choose being healthy, movement or exercise will always be part of that story.

How does osteopathy work?
It’s like magic!

A lot of the osteopathic techniques are about the use of physics and the impact on anatomy and physiology.

There’s a bunch of different types of medicine out there.. alopathic, natural, Chinese.. this is where you will find the core foundations of Osteopathic medicine.

A lot of our techniques you can find in every other manual therapy style, being the nature of it is coming back to the basic elements of universal laws.

Chase’s (..short?) story 😊

Initially born in Brisbane. Travelled the world (#54 countries). Now living in the beautiful Coolangatta. Fitness has always been apart of who I am, growing up I had a super active childhood, with heaps of time outdoors in the ocean, climbing up trees or camping and hiking through the bush or floating down rivers. A few of the main activities that had been an influence in the early years was swimming, soccer, tennis, martial arts, rollerblading and bike riding and whatever randomness kids do..

The feminine side of the family had been a big influence in regards to the healing arts, closest being my mother Wendy who trained as a Naturopath and always had a good story to tell about how the drug industry was helping to suppress another cure about something, or how a natural remedy would work better to solve some bodily function.. slippery elm for constipation.. utilising the fever response and strengthening the immune system with garlic, chilli and ginger.. etc etc, or if you do a little bit of massage work behind the head you could help relieve a headache without having a pain killer.. So happy to have had that as a strong early influence.
