Morning routine
What are your morning habits?
You may be used to drinking a cup of coffee or tea to get you going in the morning. Some of you may even opt for a glass of cool water.
According to Ayurveda, drinking warm water on an empty stomach brings your doshas into balance.
Balanced doshas is one of the key to perfect health, so we want to make sure they stay in their sight.
So there is my morning routine:
1- I scrape my tongue with a copper made tongue scraper (to get rid of the accumulation of mucous, toxins built up overnight), white coating. Cleaning your tongue will remove bad breath, stickiness in the mouth and improve taste.
2- I brush my teeth and use a gum power to strengthen my gums.
3- I drink warm purified water with:
juice of 1/2 a lemon : They are delicious remedies for treating the digestive and urinary systems with the added bonus of having a high vitamin C content; few thin slices of ginger: It is a warming anti-inflammatory root, it warms the digestive system, increase Agni and the secretion of digestive enzymes. Excellent if you are not used to feel hungry in the morning but you know you have to have something before you go to work. Ginger has an toxins-clearing action.
- Aloe Vera flesh: it is a mild laxative as its bitter principle works via the liver to encourage the release of bile. It is also very good for inflammation conditions inside and out of the body. It encourages the clearing of toxins, destroys poisons and clears tumours.
4- Bathroom o'clock: Evacuate the bowels upon rising if possible for dosha balance.
It is imperative to cultivate the habit of evacuating the bowels before breakfast. Routine is another key to health.
5- Guided Meditation with "Insight Timer" for at least 10 minutes, be grateful for this new day, grateful for your nourishing breakfast, grateful for the house you live in, and so on.
6- Yoga practice: I advice Surya namaskar (salutation to the sun) for those who don't have much time in the morning.
That is how I start my mornings, that was just to give you an idea on how simple it is to balance your body with a simple morning routine.
It will help you to be healthier and live longer.
So let spread the word! Let's share it.
And remember:
"Whatever you do every day is stronger medicine than whatever medicine you take occasionally."
Namaste 🙏
