We’re introducing changes to help participants more easily manage their budgets.

If you’re starting a new NDIS plan or going through a reassessment, your plan will now usually have three-month funding periods.

Funding periods define when your plan’s funds will become available to use. These new three-month funding periods will help:

✔️ reduce the risk of running out of funds early

✔️ ensure supports are available when they are needed.

This approach is similar to the way people receive salaries or other government payments.

The change will be rolled out gradually, with participants only impacted when they receive a new or reassessed plan.

Funding periods will generally be spread evenly across the plan.

This change will not affect the total amount of funding in a participant’s plan, only when the funding becomes available.

Jake is kicking goals in the gym and at work!

23-year-old Jake has down syndrome and has secured his first paid job at his local IGA supermarket.
Jake stocks shelves, fills fridges and ‘faces up’ stock. He also helps out in the storeroom unloading trucks and sorting stock. Now he’s learning to use the cash registers.

Jake says, ‘It’s a great job. I love it. I help customers, staff and my boss Amanda.’

Beware of a Scam targeting NDIS participants!

Have you received an email or SMS with links asking you to enter your personal details to log into myGov?

It has been reported by the NDIS that there has been an increase in fraudulent emails and SMS messages targeting NDIS participants, as well as the broader public.

These emails contain malicious links that ask you to enter your personal details to log into myGov. It is important to remain alert to any unexpected messages or requests that require your NDIS information.

Steps that you can take to protect your digital safety including always logging into myGov through the official app or at http://my.gov.au?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=web_content&utm_content=ap_5if29hgtic, and checking the ‘what are scams’ page on the NDIS website to learn how to spot and report scams.
