One of the biggest myths about retreats is that you need to be in your “best shape” to attend.
That you need to be flexible, experienced, confident, calm, or somehow more evolved.
In reality, you don’t need any of that.
You need a body.
A breath.
And a willingness to begin where you are.
In my work as a psychologist, I hear this belief all the time:
“I don’t deserve it yet.”
Usually from people who are exhausted, burnt out, or carrying far more than they realise.
But rest and healing aren’t rewards for coping well.
They are foundations for wellbeing.
Retreats aren’t just for the elite or the already-zen.
They’re for people who want to feel more like themselves again.
Healing doesn’t ask you to be more.
It simply asks you to be honest about what you need.
And then it meets you there.
