This week we proudly brought the Sundale Ltd Palliative Care Conference 2025 to our Sunshine Coast community. A full day at the Nambour RSL Club that strengthened our workforce, invited professionals from outside of Sundale, and we honoured those who choose the noble profession of aged care - where being of service changes lives every day.

Joined by the Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying (RePaDD), the Specialist Palliative Care (SPACE) team, Sunshine Coast Health, the Voluntary Assisted Dying Team and Gregson & Weight Funeral Directors, this conference brought together leading experts and practitioners for learning, collaboration and reflection on the future of palliative and end-of-life care.

The day included:
⭐️ Evidence-informed sessions on compassionate care, cultural diversity and family communication. How to normalise end of life.
⭐️ Deep dive into the strengthened Aged Care Standard 5: Clinical Care
⭐️ 7.5 CPD hours for attendees
⭐️ Professional networking and discussion on critical aged care reforms

This event was a genuine investment in the knowledge and resilience of our people and those from other organisations that we walk alongside - to understand the need to compassionately support individuals and families during their most difficult times.

Bringing this conference to the Sunshine Coast helps to build local capability, fosters sector-wide conversations and recognises the extraordinary commitment of those who work in aged care. Thank you to those who helped to make this possible, we appreciate you!

Team Sundale Executive Manager, Brand + Communications Tracey Gillinder, Procurement Manager Suzanne Hankins and Board Director Jenny McKay represented on Thursday! Nambour was buzzing with community spirit at this month's Nambour Chamber of Commerce coffee catch up event. For the first time ever, we met at the Nambour Museum, a true hidden gem filled with stories of our Sunshine Coast region’s past, from sugar mills to farming. It was the perfect backdrop for a morning of great conversation, connecting local business representatives and first-time visitors over delicious coffee from Brewdy coffee co. We also took a moment to celebrate the incredible success of the recent Big Spring Clean Up, a true team effort that made the town shine, and to recognise The Queensland Garden Show, one of Australia’s biggest gardening celebrations, which is held right here in Nambour. Today was a great reminder of what makes our town so special and why it’s such a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

‘Red carpets, panoramic views, champagne and ceremonial scissors described as “the most beautiful” the mayor had ever used, marked Sundale’s official opening of its impressive Hilltop Events Centre at Palmwoods on Wednesday (August 13).

The grand opening represented a “three-for-one” celebration according to Sundale CEO Cameron Taylor, simultaneously launching the new events centre, welcoming new residents to recently completed accommodations and unveiling Sundale’s refreshed brand identity.’

We’re proud to celebrate our growth in seniors living with the expansion of Sundale’s Palmwoods community and the grand opening of the Hilltop Events Centre. On Wednesday afternoon, we unveiled this stunning community space, featuring a 25-meter inground swimming pool and new villas at Palmwoods Garden Village.

This milestone reflects our commitment to building vibrant, inclusive communities where connection and wellbeing are at the heart. We believe that the voices of our current and future residents are essential, and the Hilltop Events Centre will serve as a welcoming space for gatherings and activities that meet our community's evolving needs.

Today we honour our Team Sundale Nurses on this International Nurses Day 2025.

Nurses embody the essence of care, tirelessly working on the frontline, through thick and thin, meeting challenges head-on with unwavering spirit. As we celebrate these remarkable individuals today, I’m reminded of change agent and nurse Rawsi Williams' powerful words: "To do what nobody else will do, a way that nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through; that is to be a nurse." This quote captures the relentless pursuit of excellence that is at the heart of nursing, a noble profession that truly stands apart in its commitment to healing and support.

Nurses are the cornerstone of our healthcare system, often acting as the bridge between doctors and patients, providing care, hope, and solace. Their tireless dedication extends beyond medical duties; they lift spirits, offer compassionate understanding, and continuously put others before themselves. Today, we salute each nurse's resilience, resourcefulness, and relentless dedication to providing the highest quality of care and customer service, ensuring the well-being of those they serve.
