Life’s changed a bit over the last few years, moving back to both online and 1on1 coaching from a small studio has been very rewarding! However In-person coaching is just about at capacity — and I’m super grateful for the crew Iget to work with every week 💪

Modifying the deadlift when you cant deadlift.

"I cant deadlift, I get too jacked up everytime I do that movement"

Ive heard this a bit over my time coaching, now Im not saying that everyone should deadlift but it can be a powerful tool to help build overall body strength when performed properly.

Not everyone is going to be able to do a convential deadlift in a way thats safe or even an effective use of their time.

In this weeks Tech Tuesday from the vault I take you through a few ways I have modified the movement for my clients that has been able to get them doing the movement!

Most people want to build a strong core!

Being strong and stable through the midline helps with any form or movement and with everyday activities. It can also go a long way to addressing back issues and moving pain free.

This week I go through soe of my favourite movement I use in my programs to help build a string midline!

Looking to build your "core" strength?
Medicine balls can be a great tool for this!
Rotational strength is sometimes a commonly overlooked component of getting a strong midline.

Getting into a better overhead position.

Ill be the first to tell you that not everyone should be pressing overhead or doing overhead squats.
Even if your not in the best position to be doing then currently you can work towards it.
In this video I go through some movements that can not only help you get into a better overhead position but may also help with some t-spine and shoulder mobility.
So even if you arnt planning on going overhead in your training you may still benefit from it.
As always if you need help with a specific plan reach out, as busy parents we only have limited time to train with everything else we have going on, so its important to make the most of your time by doing something thats catered for you.

Hanging out for healthy shoulders.
Dead hangs are one of my all time favourite movements.
They can be a great addition to build grip strength, healthy shoulders and even do some decompression of the lower back.
There are a few different ways you can mix these up to get different responses each time.
While they are a great movement that most can do, you may need to work up to doing them, if you need some help building up your deadhangs then drop me a comment below and lets put a plan in place to get you there!

Box Jumps can be a grea display of explosive power.

Its even something that Ive seen can become a goal for some people to be able to do!

There are a few things you need to look out for to do a box jump effectively and to keep yourself injury free while doing them!
