Today is International Women’s Day, and we’re recognising the foundational role women have played in our organisation, from its beginnings to the present. From Lady Janet Clarke’s tireless commitment to rallying government and community support for those most in need, to Prime Minister Alfred Deakin’s wife Pattie who accompanied our early nurses on their rounds, to our 16,000+ workforce today, Bolton Clarke has been shaped by the vision, hard work and expertise of generations of women across leadership, support and frontline care services.

Chinese New Year at The Ormsby is a joyful celebration of culture, tradition, and connection. Residents enjoy red decorations, fortune cookies and listening to traditional music. For some residents it stimulates memories, and with our High Tea, it encourages social engagement, bringing warmth, happiness, and meaningful connection to the community.

“It’s a wrap!” For our Live, Love and Shine program here at The Ormsby and the Lifestyle Team and residents want to thank our artistic and creative facilitator’s for their wonderful work they do here at The Ormsby. Darren, of Catchy Music, comes in on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings and with his guitar, he sings along with our residents in their neighbourhood lounges, rooms and wherever he is required to use the magic of music to put a smile on someone’s face. Anna comes in with her basket of tricks and within moments of someone saying “I’m not artistic” she helps them produce a work of art bringing smiles back again. Anna also does her creative movement and within seconds a person moves a limb using muscles they thought they never had. Looking forward to another fun year ahead with Anna and Darren - glad to have you both on the Team!!!

New Year celebrations at The Ormsby included a visit from fun, musical visit from Elvis with lively dancing and a delicious BBQ on the veranda with friends. What a great way to welcome the New Year!
