I provide online and in person coaching for clients all across Australia and the world. Throughout my life I’ve personally over come many obstacles and frustrations while searching for a way to live a healthy, fulfilling and balanced lifestyle. During my journey and due to the challenges I over came, I established a very unique understanding of the difficulties every day people are facing. I personally experienced yo-yo dieting and following fad diets and short term fixes that were simply not lifestyle friendly nor sustainable or educational. It gave me a passion to help share my experience and acquired knowledge with others and give them the opportunity to grow and reach their true potential.

Christmas food temptation doesn’t mean you’ve fallen off track — it means you’re human🎄
But this year, you can enjoy the season without the spiral.
In this week’s episode of the Fit Minds Podcast, I cover:
• setting healthy boundaries with family
• navigating work functions and Christmas parties
• handling peer pressure around food
• gifting or sharing treats you don’t actually want
• choosing what supports your health, goals & wellbeing
• remembering the food will be there every Christmas
You don’t have to eat something just because it’s there.
You don’t have to do what’s culturally “normal” if it doesn’t align with your goals.
For the mums who want to enjoy Christmas and still feel good 🤍

Carbs don’t make you fat.
Copious amounts of alcohol and fatty meals do.
This weekend I ate exactly what I wanted with my family and somehow still lost weight this morning…
5 days out from my period.
SATURDAY
• An unmeasured breakfast and car ride protein snacks.
• Pasta salad, roast chicken, green salad + prawns on a boat
• Crackers, fruit + cold meats for afternoon tea
• Coke Zero + plenty of water
• Korean BBQ for dinner — loads of meat, veg and potato
SUNDAY
I didn’t punish myself.
I didn’t “make up for it”.
I didn’t fast, skip meals or cut calories.
• Ate what I wanted
• Frozen Coke Zero at the movies
• Burger + fries + kombucha with my fiancé
MONDAY & TUESDAY
I just went straight back to my normal meals.
I even had some salmon and fresh oysters Monday night for my birthday.
And no I didn’t just exercise my food off… I did 10 minutes of stand-up paddle boarding Saturday.
5000 - 7000 steps Saturday-Monday.
And a 45 minute gym session Monday.
I haven’t tracked calories for 2.5 years.
No restriction.
No panic.
I simply understand exactly what I need to eat for my goals.
And trust me — I’m no stranger to extra weekends and events:
NOV — My anniversary
DEC — Christmas events, birthdays, my birthday, a week away in Mackay, Christmas Day
JAN — New Year’s, Fiji for a week, family visiting, my fiancés birthday
FEB — Valentine’s Day, visiting family
MAR — My daughter’s birthday, family visiting
If anyone understands how to sustain a NORMAL lifestyle and eating… it’s me.
And yet I still enjoy my life without gaining weight.
So no — don’t blame the pasta, potato or bread
for what the butter, cream, wine and cheese did.
This is what sustainable nutrition actually looks like 🤍

Nutrition is incredibly nuanced — complex but also very simple at the same time…
It’s funny because Nutritionists and Dieticians are often seen contradicting themselves.
“Try to limit highly processed foods”
“Health foods can be more calorie dense than processed foods”
And we can empathise, this can be incredibly disorienting for our audience.
But here’s the catch, it’s not about drawing drastic definitive conclusions or making absolute statements — ruling one or the other out.
Black and white thinking “ideologies” are actually a large contributing reason for lack of knowledge and misconceptions around food.
Demonising food groups isn’t the aim.
Glorifying processed food isn’t either.
Our standpoint falls somewhere in between.
The broader approach could be reframed as “80/20”.
So as to be more palatable for our audience.
The issue at hand?
Personal and cultural bias.
We are so heavily influenced by our own personal experiences, we tend to draw conclusions based on such.
The field of Nutrition is where this is being practised most irresponsibly by the greater masses — oftentimes rather innocently and unbeknownst of the impact their “opinions” may have.
Remember, fact check the bias you hold WITH an adequately qualified Nutritionist or Dietician.
Professional credibility will get you much further than absorbing information via Chat GPT, a random TikTok or Instagram reel.
And ask yourself where were your original ideologies were formed in the first place? Childhood? An unqualified unverified source? Google?
Nutrition is a Science, complimented by basic Mathematics — NOT an ideology.
Sincerely, a QUALIFIED Nutritionist.

For those of you who are new here or don’t know me so well…
Let me humanise myself.
I am not perfect.
I spent years on a sister drug to chemotherapy.
Which impacted my fertility and menstrual cycle as a young girl.
Psoriatic Arthritis can be treated with only two different medications — one of which delivers temporary infertility or the other resulting in permanent infertility.
The same can be said for Adeno, no surgery can physically be performed to improve the condition other than a hysterectomy.
I used to be heavily medicated for depression and anxiety.
I used to self medicate with alcohol, ci******es and recreational drugs.
I struggled with eating disorders for years, a coping mechanism which left me s**cidal.
I was hospitalised multiple times for my mental health struggles.
I have an incredibly creative and active mind.
One which has unfortunately worked against me at the best of times.
I never quite felt like I fit in anywhere, ever.
I still don’t.
But I chose to battle my sicknesses, mental health and setbacks in life — with sheer determination, a shift in mindset and actually giving a s**t about my nutrition and exercise.
At the end of the day, I could’ve ended up a statistic.
But I chose to do something about it.
I hadn’t met my daughter, or my future partner yet but I knew that I had to make things right before they came along.
And that’s exactly what I did.
I did it for me. I did it for them.
I continue to do it every day for my clients, family and friends.
I’ll keep showing up — even when it’s hard, ESPECIALLY when it’s hard.
Sincerely, a Nutritionist who cares.
🤍

BAD foods for weight loss?
👇🏼Comment SWAPS for my free Fat Loss Food Swaps Guide ✨
Let’s be real — no foods are “bad,” but some choices are worse for fat loss and will hold you back from your goals.
As a busy mum, it’s about choosing the option that actually supports your goal.
Want to lose your mum-tum and lose the baby weight?
Pick the leaner, lower-calorie versions.
Want to build strength and curves again?
Go for the more calorie-dense versions.
Examples:
• 🍗 Chicken breast = lean + lower calorie → great for fat loss
• 🍖 Chicken thighs = higher fat → great for gaining weight
• 🥔 Boiled potato = more volume, fewer calories → keeps you fuller when cutting
• 🍟 Oil-fried chips = more calorie-dense → better if you’re trying to gain
• 🍚 White rice = easier to digest, slightly lower fibre → great for quick energy
• 🌾 Brown rice = higher fibre + more filling → great if you need more volume
• 🥣 0% Greek yoghurt = lighter option → fat-loss friendly
• 🍶 5% Greek yoghurt = higher calories + nutrient-dense → great if you need more fuel
• 🥛 Low-fat milk = lower calories + lighter → better for fat loss
• 🐮 Full-fat milk = higher calories + more fuel → much better for weight gain
The truth?
No food is “bad.”
Some options simply align better with the results you want — once you understand that, everything gets easier.

Best foods for weight loss 🔥
Comment ‘SWAPS’ for my free weight loss food swaps guide 📖💡
Swap white rice for Spud Lite potatoes 🍽️✨
Lower in calories ✅
Keeps you fuller longer ✅
White rice might be the easier option as a busy Mum but…🍚
White rice digests faster, leaving you hungry sooner — great if you’re building muscle or gaining weight, but potatoes are the smarter choice for weight loss 🥔
