🍹Smoothie bowl...... Well, sort of! I too much milk in, so its a wee bit runny but still delicious. Banana, spinach, strawberries, greek yoghurt, Strawberry protein powder, milk, cacao, maple syrup, topped with coconut, slivered almonds, strawberries and drizzled peanut butter. ( I added my Probiotic powder to this as well). 🍌🍓🍃🥜🍨

The care you apply before going to bed can do its work overnight. This is the ideal moment to really pamper your skin with your care routine, because your skin has to work extra hard at night to regenerate optimally.

1. Cleanse with makeup remover and cleansing milk. In the evening, it is important to remove dirt and make-up as the first step. If you wear makeup or work in a harsh environment, I recommend double cleansing with a gentle cleansing milk.

2. Strengthen with Natural Plant extract Toner: Toners gently activate the skin’s self-healing capacity and promote a radiant complexion.

3. Vitalize with serum. Serums refine fine lines and wrinkles caused by dryness, strengthens skin functions and regulates moisture levels. The skin becomes noticeably finer and firmer. Sensitive skin is also soothed by serums.

The skins ageing process is a natural phenomenon that cannot be stopped or reversed but that does not mean you cannot still have radiant, glowing skin, after all, it is not about looking younger and younger, but better and better.

As you enter perimenopause and menopause your skin often becomes dry and sensitive, fine wrinkles may appear, hyperpigmentation may be an issue. Diet and lifestyle plays a big part in the condition of our skin, but by staying consistent with a simple face care routine, can help maintain a healthy glow no matter what your age.

A 3 step, gentle and natural morning routine:

1. Cleanse - Use a natural cream or balm to remove dirt and dead skin cells without drying out your skin. You can mix your cream with a bit of water to thin it out.

2. Strengthen with Facial Toner and Serum - Plant extract toners strengthen and regulate your skin and give your complexion a refined appearance. I like to keep my toners in the fridge during the summer months and use throughout the day to keep feeling refreshed.
Serum - Serums supports the skin’s natural regenerative functions, helping to firm mature skin and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Soothing for reddened, sensitive skin as well.

3. Care with Day cream/lotion - The right day cream accompanies the natural processes of the skin, brings it into balance and at the same time protects against dehydration. If you find cream too heavy on your skin, use a light lotion that contains the similar ingredients for the beneficial therapies.

In my 8 week Skin & Hormone Essentials Program I teach my clients which products suit their specific skin type and my personal recommendations. We dive deep into different skin types and which routines are specific to you.

This simple tip is one of my favourite ways of reminding clients, food is medicine!
By letting your mushrooms sunbake in the midday sun, for 15-120 minutes, you will be able to get your RDA of Vitamin D!

Do you take ?

The sunshine vitamin can also be hard to absorb if you use sunscreen, have darker skin, or live in cooler climates. With adequate Vitamin D levels symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, such as hot flushes and tiredness, can be greatly reduced. Always get your Vitamin D levels checked with a blood test before taking a Vitamin D supplement. Talk to a health professional to discuss levels and if an additional supplement may be beneficial.

(Athough the levels of vitamin D2 in UV-exposed mushrooms may decrease with storage and cooking, if they are consumed before the ‘best-before’ date, vitamin D2 level is likely to remain above 10 μg/100 g fresh weight, which is higher than the level in most vitamin D-containing foods and similar to the daily requirement of vitamin D recommended internationally.)
