Pet Rest Cremations

Pet Rest Cremations Personalised service for your beloved pet. Sunshine Coast owned and operated for 26 years. We are happy to work with you and your vet during the whole process.

We are a family owned and operated business based solely on the Sunshine Coast. Our staff members are dedicated, caring and passionate about the welfare of animals, and all have fur families of our own. Our goal is to provide a caring and dignified service to make the difficult time as easy as possible. At Pet rest cremations, we understand that it can be challenging to hand over your beloved family member to strangers, and as such, we have an open door policy. We are located within the grounds of the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge and greatly value the relationship we have with the organisation and volunteers. The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge grounds are beautifully maintained in the tranquil bushland surrounds. Our team are all local residents and support Sunshine Coast small businesses where we can.

You have choice.

The aftercare options for your pet are sometimes directed by the clinic you visit. Many aftercare companies are located in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, meaning your pet will be taken away for their service. Pet Rest Cremations is a 100% family owned, small business with no big parent company. We are located right here on the Sunshine Coast in Tanawha within the grounds of the Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge. All the beautiful pets we look after are cared for on our premise with the upmost dignity and respect. Pet Rest Cremations has been in operation since 1997 and has been entrusted with the care of sunshine coast families for over 28 years. Utilising a Sunshine Coast small business supports the families of our dedicated team. Your beautiful pet is also able to stay close to home.

We know that its hard to let go and release trusted responsibility to someone else, but know that we do understand the deep love and relationship of a pet and their family and we will be respectful and provide dignified care.

We genuinely care. Looking after families is our passion. You and your pets final journey matters and we will do everything we can to ensure it is right for you.

If you would like more information or would like to use our service for your beautiful family member, please contact our office on 5439 6111, email admin@petrestcremations.com.au or let your vet know you would like to use Pet Rest Cremations. ❤

Whoa pups & kitties! They may look delicious but Hot Cross buns and Easter Eggs are big no no’s! The sultana’s in buns and theobromine in chocolate are absolutely toxic to dogs & cats. We have all heard (or may even know) pets that have eaten these treats and been fine, however each animal is different and the toxicity builds. Of course dogs are super clever and will sniff them out if they can, so if you suspect that your pet is affected (Vomiting, Diarrhea, Restlessness, seizures) call your vet or emergency vet ASAP. and will be open all throughout the Easter long weekend if you suspect anything wrong

We are extending this update for Saturday and Sunday as the weather is prolonged.

Cyclone Update:
As the weather deteriorates over the next two days, we have considered the advice of the QLD government to avoid travel and mitigate risk. This Thursday (6th March) and Friday, we will be operating as an ‘on-call’ only service. We are hoping that tomorrow morning we will be able to function as normal however this is something we will have to assess as the storm moves closer. This will mean that our office will be closed however we will still provide collections for families provided it is safe to do so.

The safety of the community and our team is as always paramount. There may be a period of time whereby we can only offer phone support (providing phone/ internet services remain) as it could become too much of a risk for our team to travel. If you need support during the next two days, please don’t hesitate to call and we will endeavour to care for you in the best way we can. It is highly likely that the emergency vet clinics will remain open, however please see the relevant websites for more information.
If you currently have a pet in our care, please know that they are safe and we will continue to look after them until they can be safely returned home to you.

We know that As Queenslanders used to storms as flooding, you will all be prepared. Just in case- now is a really great time to check your pets microchip details are up to date. Stay safe everyone- fingers crossed for the best.

Important microchip information!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
regarding MICROCHIP registration with HOMESAFEID!

HomeSafeID pet registry is closing down, and no longer operational. This means that if your pet goes missing, the linked contact details may not be accessible.

To ensure your contact details remain accessible and up-to-date, we strongly recommend registering your pets microchip with another database.

https://www.aar.org.au is currently approved to re-register all HomeSafeID pets with a QLD address. Clients must download and complete a registration form and pay a $15 fee. The turnaround time is less than 24hrs, unless the pets owners have changed, in which case it may take up to 2 weeks.

If you’re unsure which database your pet’s microchip is registered with, you can check on https://petaddress.com.au

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 5444 1877 ☎️
