Some of the sequence from a recent upload to my Video Library - Intermediate # 281

This is a shorter format class (46 mins) using only one prop - a blanket - with a focus on backbends. We start with variations of the Surya Namaskar (salute to the sun) and move onto Salabhasana (locust), Bujangasana (cobra), Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (upward dog), Dhanurasana (bow) and Ustrasana (camel). We explore rolling from Dhanurasana through Parsva Dhanurasana (side bow) to Chatush Padasana (four footed pose) and back again.

Some of the sequence from a recent upload to my Video Library - Intermediate # 280

This class involves mobilising and actioning the shoulder blades. We practice two variations of headstand that are great for bringing awareness to the thoracic spine. These variations are a good option for those less confident in going all the way up into the pose as we use bricks, a chair and the wall for support. We practice mobilising the shoulders for shoulder stand and implement awareness of “stamping” the upper arm bones down in order to create the rebound lift in the chest and spine.

Some of the sequence from a recent upload to my Video Library - Intermediate # 279

A standing pose class making use of the trestle, however you can use the kitchen bench, desk or wall and chair. We use this kind of support to provide us with stability, alignment and the capacity to stay longer in the poses. When we stay longer we refine the technique, create more lift and more opening therefore we experience a deeper therapeutic effect.
