such as traditional Chinese Tuina (pronounced "twee nah") massage, Reflexology, Cupping, Gua Sha, Acupuncture, Remedial/Deep Tissue/Relaxation Massage. Tuina (pronounced "twee nah") is a form of Oriental bodywork that has been used in China for centuries. Tuina uses the traditional Chinese medical theory of the flow of Qi through the meridians as its basic therapeutic orientation. A combination of massage, acupressure and other forms of body manipulation, tuina works by applying pressure to accupoints, meridians and groups of muscles or nerves to remove blockages that prevent the free flow of Qi Removing these blockages restores the balance of Qi in the body, leading to improved health and vitality, allowing the body the naturally heal itself. Remedial Massage
When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted and tense or immobile, Remedial Massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Remedial massage holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms. It uses several specialised techniques to locate and repair damage and to support and speed up the body's own repair mechanisms. The massage is applied directly to the skin using a lubricating medium, usually oil, which ensures that the muscles associated with the disorder and mobilisation of the joint are deeply penetrated. Sessions usually take 30 minutes to one and half hours, depending on the whether the practitioner will just address a specific area or give a whole body massage. As oil is used, it is necessary for the client to be unclothed for the treatment. Remedial Massage Therapy is known to:
