2 weeks back when we were fresh off the plane, this pic was taken within an hr of touching down in Phnom Penh. Kai's memories of Srok Khmer are limited, but upon tasting a sip of fresh sugar juice, it evoked something within him and the taste took him back. "This reminds me of the time, I was on the back of your bicycle mum and we went to the Riverside to get "tuk ampov".

Uncle Chiet welcoming us with green coconuts from their trees. We drank some of the juice, ate the flesh then mixed the rest with special muscle wine (whiskey) and ice for a cheeky beverage or two. Then sat in the garden with a collection of aunts and uncles eating trey ngniet (dried fish) and stuffed frogs 😋

Behind the scenes - my DIY website photo shoot. 📸 My dining room table has been taken over with herbal chaos for the last couple of weeks, as I use every bit of 'nice' available lighting that each day gives me. Sometimes it's just a few minutes of the right kinda warm sunshine before the clouds consume my forest home again, so I have decided to just live with the mess & leave this space 'set up' to make the most of any opportunity to shoot. We are used to having no dining table and often eat on the floor anyhow.

These 5 wild raspberries inspired a foraging adventure with my little people. Their delightful sweetness sent us on a rock hopping mission up the creek to find what other yummy treasures might be waiting to be discovered in the forest. We didn't find anymore raspberries, BUT we did find loads of bushes to keep our eyes on over the months, AND we did find a sand paper fig with the hugest juicest fruit I've ever seen on one & low & behold they actually tasted really good (they're usually pretty rubbish). SO what began as 5 tiny little fruits I spied on the otherside of the creek, became many moments of connection & great discovery for the kids & myself too 🍓🍒❤️

This is what market prep looks like, but this is sped up to 8x the actual speed, how long do you think it took irl? We were making the Goddess yoni steam blend; this was the first blend I ever created, this one is to help connect you to your womb, your inner power, your moon cycle & activate your divine feminine essence. It might sound a bit woo woo & maybe it is, but this blend, like all the others, came to me in a 'download'. All the herbs, their ratios & their unique qualities. I couldn't just ignore that, even if I found it a bit 'woo woo' myself. However, I'm down for it now though 😅.

I've been itching to level up, to get off Etsy & create my own small business MY WAY. I'm building a website /online apothecary & expanding my offerings. I am also dreaming of starting a herbal inspired blog, creating more, sharing more & growing more. I want to deepen my understanding of plants as medicine. Comeing home to life 😁🌿🌸🌼. I was a bit nervous leaving my garden for 5days. The kids & I took the train north to see nanna & poppy & I wondered what I'd return too. Would my plants curl up and die? Would I miss picking windows & sacrifice harvests to the creatures? But nah, none of the above. Instead i came home to life. Flowers, everywhere (see my story), cucumbers for days, corn untouched by the birds 😮, more elderberries than I've ever had, & more cherry tomatoes than I know what to do with. And it all has me feeling like this 😁.

Another surprising herbal find; as we pulled up at a mangrove beach in Woodgate, QLD yesterday, I discovered the trees, mostly sheoaks, dripping with Usnea 😯. Given there has been so much rain, and wind lots had fallen to ground below. There is an abundance of Usnea where I live, in the Numinbah Valley, but I am intrigued to make a batch of medicine with the Usnea of the sea & compare how the forest air & the salt air effect it's ability to communicate with the body. I call my Usnea tincture "Lungs of the Forest" ©️, so will I call this next batch "Lungs of the Sea "? 🤣
