Christmas has begun here at Angels in Aprons HQ!

It is our tradition every year to decorate the Christmas Tree in our bay window for all to see as they pass by, it’s more that just putting up a tree, it is what makes us FAMILY. We sing, we laugh, we make a mess, we place our Secret Santa presents underneath, and our mascot Bally also has fun!

And that joy doesn’t stay in the office, it ripples out to you... When we come together like this, it reminds us all why we do what we do, and we hope you feel a little of that warmth too…

At 6am this morning, our Angel Mollie stood among the crowd at Brisbane’s Shrine of Remembrance, thinking of our clients who have lived through, served in, or lost loved ones to war.
Their stories remind us why remembrance matters.
Today, we pause with them, with gratitude and love.
Lest we forget.

There are some storms making their way across Queensland over the next few days.

Here are some quick tips to get storm ready and stay safe:

- Charge your phones and any other important devices such as medical.
- Keep food, water and medications handy
- Stay up to date with weather warnings and follow the instructions of local authorities.

September 15 - 21st is Dementia Action Week 🩵
Our Angels are dementia professionals and love spending time with clients with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. We believe behind every diagnosis is a person with a story worth hearing.
Did you know that Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease affect almost half a million Australians today, and that number is growing. It’s more than memory loss, it can change how someone thinks, speaks, and feels.
Living with dementia can be confusing and overwhelming, but small acts of support make a big difference.
At the heart of our dementia care is patience, respect and genuine connection. People with rich histories, emotions, and needs.
TIPS that can make a real difference
• Speak slowly and clearly, one idea at a time
• Use names, eye contact, and a gentle smile
• Be patient, rushing can cause stress
• Offer reminders or notes to make daily tasks easier.
• The little things help people feel safe, respected, and included 💕

For our first-time Dads; know you are already their hero 🤩
To our Dads; your son learnt how to be a man by watching you, and you are the first man your daughter ever loved 💕
To our Grandfathers; your wisdom is a gift, and your love spans generations 🙌
And in loving memory for those fathers who have passed away; we miss you today and your love lives on in all of us 😇

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the National Dying to know you Day in Bulimba, it was busy! We joined the conversations on aged care changes, support options, and end-of-life choices, sharing our experience as professionals in that important pathway. It was wonderful to talk about how people can stay at home for longer and plan ahead with dignity. Many were surprised to learn you may now be eligible for $25,000 in funding for a three-month end-of-life program; a life changing option for those who need it...
