Hey everyone, it’s Rhys T. O’Leary here! I wanted to take a moment to delve into the rich history of cartomancy—reading the cards to gain insight into our lives. Cartomancy dates back centuries, evolving from simple playing cards in the 14th century to today’s diverse tarot and oracle decks. Across cultures, these cards have been used to unlock deeper truths, guide decisions, and connect us to something bigger than ourselves.

Today, I’m at Chameleon New Age Salon in Surfers Paradise, helping others find the perfect deck—whether you’re a beginner looking for simple guidance or an advanced reader seeking cosmic depth. The beauty of cartomancy is how it empowers us to trust our intuition, reflect on life’s patterns, and even manifest growth. If you’ve ever felt drawn to the cards, you’re tapping into a timeless practice that has helped people find clarity for generations. Let’s unlock your journey—one card at a time.

🌍 A Gentle Reminder During Intense Times in the World

The world can feel like a lot sometimes.

There are moments where the collective energy feels heavier than usual — where emotions are heightened, people are navigating uncertainty, and everything seems to move a little faster than our nervous systems can comfortably process.

During times like this, it’s important to remember something simple:

Be gentle with yourself.

Not everyone experiences the world in the same way. Some people are naturally more sensitive to the emotional atmosphere around them. They pick up on subtle shifts in mood, tension, stress, or collective worry more easily than others.

If you are someone who feels things deeply, there is nothing wrong with you. It simply means you are attuned to the world in a very real way.

But being aware and sensitive also means it is especially important to care for your own energy and wellbeing.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down for a moment.

Take a breath.

Step away from the noise.

Spend time in nature, sit quietly, talk with someone you trust, or simply allow yourself a moment to reset.

You are not required to carry the emotional weight of everything happening in the world.

You are allowed to rest.

You are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to protect your peace.

When you take care of your own energy, you are better able to show up in the world with clarity, compassion, and strength.

So today, consider this a gentle reminder to check in with yourself.

How are you feeling?

What do you need right now?

Sometimes the smallest acts of self-care create the greatest sense of balance.

Take care of yourself and be kind to your mind and heart today.

We are all navigating this world together. ✨

📖 Currently reading: The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett.

I originally planned to wait until I finished the book before sharing my thoughts… but I couldn’t wait.

So far, this is an exceptional read for anyone who genuinely wants to elevate their life to another level — whether that’s in mindset, business, personal growth, or understanding how success is actually built.

What stands out most to me is how the book is structured. The ideas are presented in a way that anyone can connect with, regardless of background, experience, or level of understanding. That’s not easy to achieve in a book like this, yet it’s done very well.

However, as I’ve been reading, I’ve also noticed something very interesting.

There are subtle insights and deeper principles embedded throughout the book that I can almost guarantee most readers will skim past without fully recognising their significance. When you start paying attention to those hidden layers, the book becomes even more powerful.

Some books are meant to be read.
Others are meant to be studied.

This one sits somewhere in between.

Once I’ve finished the book, I’ll return with a full breakdown and my final analysis, including some of the deeper ideas I’ve already begun uncovering.

But at this stage I can confidently say:

If you are looking to grow, evolve, and expand your perspective on life, this book is absolutely worth adding to your collection.

📚 Question for you:
Have you read The Diary of a CEO yet? If so, what were your thoughts?

I’m curious to hear what others took away from it.

📧 Your Inbox Has a Carbon Footprint (And It’s Bigger Than You Think)
We think of email as invisible.
It’s not.

Every email you send, receive, and store lives inside a physical data center — massive industrial facilities powered by electricity and cooled around the clock.

And those facilities have a carbon footprint.

🌍 The Internet Is a Physical Machine

The internet runs on:
Warehouses full of servers
Industrial-scale cooling systems
Backup power supplies
24/7 uptime requirements
According to the International Energy Agency, data centers account for roughly 1–1.5% of global electricity consumption.
That’s comparable to the total electricity use of some mid-sized countries.
And email is part of that load.

📊 The Carbon Cost of Email (The Numbers)
Research from Carbon Trust found:
A standard email generates ~4g of CO₂
An email with a large attachment can generate 50g+ of CO₂
A spam email still emits ~0.3g of CO₂
That sounds small — until you scale it.
There are over 347 billion emails sent every day globally.
If even a fraction are unnecessary, that’s thousands of tons of avoidable emissions daily.
Mike Berners-Lee, author of How Bad Are Bananas? The Carbon Footprint of Everything, estimated that if every UK adult sent one fewer unnecessary email per day, it would save over 16,000 tons of carbon annually — equivalent to thousands of flights.
Now imagine that globally.

🧠 Why Stored Emails Still Consume Energy
Deleting emails matters because storage isn’t passive.
Every stored email:
Occupies server space
Is backed up redundantly
Is indexed for search
Syncs across devices
Requires cooling 24/7
Cloud storage feels weightless.
But “the cloud” is just someone else’s computer — running constantly.
The longer unnecessary emails sit in storage, the longer they require energy to maintain.

🔁 Why Daily Cleaning Is Exponentially Better
Most people clean their inbox once a year (if ever).
That means 365 days of:
Unnecessary storage
Redundant backups
Energy usage
Deleting daily prevents buildup.
It turns:
A 10,000-email purge once a year
Into
A 20-email habit that prevents digital hoarding entirely
Optimization principle: Prevention uses less energy than correction.

♻️ High-Impact Inbox Strategy (Extreme Optimization Mode)
If you want maximum environmental efficiency:
1️⃣ Unsubscribe Aggressively
Newsletters you don’t read = permanent emissions.
2️⃣ Empty Spam Daily
Spam still consumes server energy.
3️⃣ Delete Old Attachments
Large PDFs, videos, and image files have disproportionate storage cost.
4️⃣ Use Cloud Links Instead of Attachments
Shared drive links reduce duplicated storage across inboxes.
5️⃣ Turn Off Auto-Subscriptions & Notifications
Fewer incoming emails = lower lifetime footprint.

🌎 Is Email the Biggest Climate Problem?
No.
But that’s not the point.
Systemic change is critical — but daily digital hygiene is:
Immediate
Free
Scalable
Behavior-based
Collective
If 100 million people deleted just 100 unnecessary emails this week, that’s 10 billion emails removed from long-term storage demand.
Climate change solutions compound through collective micro-actions.

🧭 The Bigger Picture
We often wait for dramatic action.
But real environmental change also lives in:
Daily habits
Invisible systems
Collective consistency
You check your email every day anyway.
It takes 2–5 minutes to:
Delete
Unsubscribe
Reduce
Prevent
Multiply that by billions of people.
Your inbox is part of the global energy system.
Clean it like it matters.
Because at scale — it does. 🌍📧✨

💫 I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the team at Chameleon New Age Salon in Surfers Paradise!

For those who don’t know me yet — I specialise in reading timelines: tuning into your energy and showing you the most probable direction forward based on the choices you’ve already made. My readings are all about clarity, empowerment, and transformation — helping you feel lighter, clearer, and ready to move ahead.

At Chameleon, I’m offering sessions that are available in-store or by telephone, so you can connect with me wherever you are.

✨ You can read the full intro post from Chameleon below, or if you’d like to book directly, here’s my link:

💫 New staff member alert!
Hi, I’m Rhys 👋 I specialise in reading timelines — tuning into your energy and showing you the most probable line of action based on the choices you’ve already made. I’ve always been spiritually and psychically inclined, but I began consciously offering readings at 17 and haven’t looked back since.
✨ My philosophy: You can only meet people exactly where they’re at. My role is to give you clarity from that point forward. Most clients leave my sessions feeling like a weight has been lifted — clearer, lighter, and more empowered to move ahead.
What makes my readings unique is that I step away from the “performance” often associated with readings and instead focus on direct, metascientific energy work. In simple terms: I read the energy as it presents itself and deliver it to you honestly, clearly, and with compassion.

A little about me:
♏ Star sign: Scorpio (with a Libra moon & Sagittarius rising)
🔥 Spirit animal: The Phoenix — all about transformation and rebirth
💡 Friends would say I’m: Real, honest, crazy, and uplifting
🌊 Outside of work: I love the beach, the mountains, singing, people-watching, and meeting new souls along the way

If you’re ready for a reading that’s grounded, straightforward, and deeply transformational, I’d love to connect with you.

🌑✨ Walking the Eclipse Corridor ✨🌑

Hey beautiful souls, Rhys here.

Right now, we’re moving through one of the most potent times of the year — the eclipse corridor. Between the Lunar Eclipse on 7 Sept and the Solar Eclipse on 21 Sept, it feels like the universe is shifting walls, opening doors, and asking: “What are you ready to leave behind so you can step into the new?”

Tonight, or technically early Sunday morning, 14 September 2025 at 2:04 AM AEST, Mars moves into Libra. Mars = action, drive, passion. Libra = balance, fairness, relationships. Together they say: “Take action, but stay centred. Move forward, but keep your peace.”

Numerology adds another layer: today is a Universal Day 4 — the builder’s number. It’s about structure, stability, and foundations. Amidst the cosmic shake-ups, the 4 energy grounds us. It reminds us to plant our feet, breathe, and take steady steps toward what we want to create.

💭 Personally, I’ve been noticing old patterns surfacing to be released — not always easy, but deeply necessary. Eclipse corridors are like soul detoxes. They strip away what no longer belongs, so we can enter the next chapter lighter and clearer.

If you’re feeling unsteady, remember: breathe, journal, meditate, walk barefoot on the earth. And if you’d like support, I’m here for you — offering sessions at Chameleon New Age Salon every Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday.

"Still Moving"

I don’t have walls to call my own,
no key, no porchlight glow—
but I’ve got friends who leave the light on,
and that’s enough to go.
A couch, a floor, a spare back room,
a place to breathe awhile—
I ride this wave from heart to heart,
still standing, still in style.

My bag holds more than clothes and shoes—
it holds the will to rise.
Each sunrise finds me somewhere new,
beneath a changing sky.
I learn to rest where love allows,
to give when I’ve got space,
to take my turn, then move along
with quiet, steady grace.

They call it drifting—so they say—
but I just call it flow.
I may not know what’s next for me,
but still, I choose to go.
Through setbacks, storms, and slammed-shut doors,
I’ve learned to bend, not break—
to find the cracks where light gets in,
to rise for rising’s sake.

Sometimes I sleep in borrowed beds,
or stretch out on a floor—
but laughter fills the spaces where
I used to count the score.
And every night that ends with warmth,
with stories shared or tea,
reminds me I’m not less than whole—
just living differently.

This life’s not simple, neat, or clean,
but still, I make it mine.
A thousand hands have helped me float
across the toughest times.
I give my thanks and keep on moving,
no shame in where I’ve been—
still hopeful, fierce, and breathing deep,
I’m not out—I’m still in.
