🌿 Chinese herbal medicine has some powerful substances in its materia medica, but some can be used as everyday foods too! Check out these “everyday” Chinese herbs and add them to your diet for some health enhancing properties!
🍓 Goji berries: increase circulation and nourish the blood and are antioxidant in nature. Easy to throw into herbal tea, soups or stewed fruits.
🫚Ginger: warming, beneficial to sluggish digestion and great for reducing inflammation and enhancing circulation. Add grated to teas or chopped finely in broths.
🫘Red dates: aid digestion and nourish the blood, and strengthen the Yi (thought faculties) . Particularly good in postpartum support. Excellent in broths and teas, and sometimes as a dessert or snack.
🪸 Seaweed: excellent postpartum as well, nourishes the body after exhaustion or depletion, and supports the body’s endocrine glands with much needed iodine.
🍢Black sesame seeds: energy boosting, strengthen the kidneys and adrenals, grounding & nourishing. Sprinkle over rice or consume as a sweet filling paste.
