I've called time on my incredible doula journey for now as we relocate to the country. We've decided to raise our boys on the land and have purchased a gorgeous little farm outside of Bathurst.
I'm going to miss the birth world and witnessing pure magic every time a new soul enters this world, but I'm so excited for a slower pace, to have some chickens and sheep and show my beautiful family what it's like to grow up on land like I was fortunate enough to do.

This is such a great image of what starts to happen when labour unfolds as your uterus contracts and your cervix effaces and then opens to allow baby down into the birth canal and ready to make their journey earthside.

As a doula I cover all of this as part of session 1 with my clients explaining exactly what happens to the body as labour unfolds. It's so great to feel educated and understand what is going on as you get closer to your birth.
