P R P with Skin Needling
What is P R P?
Platelet-Rich Plasma, which is blood plasma containing a high concentration of platelets, also known as thrombocytes helps to regenerate damaged tissue.
How does a it work?
When directly injected, PRP works to accelerate the tissue regeneration and repair process by encouraging collagen, elastin and new blood supply.
Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) has been proven to:
Improve skin health & appearance
Reduce shallow wrinkles & pigmentation
Improve skin collagen, elastin & texture
How many treatments are required?
This will depend on you individually. It is generally recommended that you have 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. This will be discussed with your treating health practitioner during your consultation.
How quickly does it work?
After your first treatment, the platelets will stimulate the growth factors which will assist with collagen growth, elastin and blood supply to the treated area, over the next few weeks. This will continue to improve over the next few months. Over the next 6-8 weeks you will see a visual difference and this improvement will continue over a period of 7 to 9 months.
What are the side effects?
PRP is generally tolerated well. The most common side effects include, local irritation/redness and mild to moderate swelling.
